the posting
At SmartAcre, “engineer” means builder. This role does not require an engineering degree.
You help SmartAcre go to market, and you build the systems that let us do it faster. You’ll ship real work every week: campaigns, content, social, and creative. When something works, you automate it so you can ship more. Then you take what works to our clients.
You’ll split your time between internal and client work:
About 50% SmartAcre marketing. You produce and ship SmartAcre’s campaigns, and you own the marketing systems behind them, what we call our GTM brain: the content workflows, AI automation, and HubSpot setup that run our marketing.
About 50% RevOps client work. You sit on the RevOps team and help clients put HubSpot’s newest AI features to work, as billable work.
The split will flex. When clients are busy, you’ll spend more time on client work. When we’re launching something, you’ll spend more time on marketing. Justin and Lisa will set the balance each month. If it moves outside 30/70 in either direction, we talk about it first.
This is a new role. We know the outcomes we want. How you get there will look different at 3 months, 6 months, and a year, and you’ll help define what this role becomes.
What You’ll Own:
SmartAcre campaigns and content
Produce and publish SmartAcre campaigns end to end, from concept and copy to creative, launch, and reporting
Own SmartAcre’s social media execution, from planning and drafting through publishing and reporting
Take an idea from leadership, own it, and run it end to end
Update website content and support creative requests
SmartAcre marketing systems and AI automation
Build and maintain the content workflows we use to turn one idea into a full campaign across blog, email, social, and sales
Use your creative background and tools like Claude Design to build repeatable creative processes for SmartAcre and our clients
Build prototypes, internal tools, and client-facing experiments in Lovable
HubSpot AI and agentic workflows
Serve as the admin for SmartAcre’s own HubSpot portal and keep it clean, current, and easy to trust
Test HubSpot’s AI features, betas, and agents in our portal first - then use this to fuel our content
Build agentic workflows in SmartAcre that become starting points for client work: pilot here, document it, then roll it out to clients
Track what works, what burns credits, and what isn’t ready yet, so we can give clients an honest take
RevOps client work
Help clients put new HubSpot features to work, including context setup, betas, agents, and automation
Bring the campaigns and workflows you proved in SmartAcre into client portals
Work with RevOps specialists, strategists, and client teams on billable projects
What Success Looks Like:
First 30 days
Launch a new SmartAcre campaign, with goals set before it goes live
First 90 days
Show proven outcomes from that campaign, reported against the goals set at launch
Have automation in place so the campaign and content workflow runs without being rebuilt by hand each time
First year
Bring a similar campaign system or automated workflow to clients, tested in SmartAcre first
Help define the GTM Engineer role we can bring to every SmartAcre team
You Might Be a Fit If:
You’d rather ship something and improve it than plan it for three weeks
You like being a jack-of-all-trades: create it, build it, test it, automate it, and move on to the next one
You’re early in your career and want to learn as much as you can, as fast as you can
You have working experience in HubSpot and like figuring out how things connect
You have a creative eye and can write, design, and explain what our clients do in plain English
You’re AI forward. You use tools like Claude, HubSpot’s AI features, and Lovable every day, and you know when the output isn’t good enough yet
You’re comfortable when plans change. The tools are changing monthly, and so will parts of this role.
You’ll tell us when an AI workflow isn’t worth shipping yet, not just when it works
Why SmartAcre?
Competitive salary with a range of $55,000 to $70,000 based on experience
Benefits package, including health, dental, vision, and 401k with employer contribution
Paid parental leave and compassionate care time
Performance-based bonuses and incentives
Paid holidays and PTO from day one
Requirements:
Must be authorized to work in the United States and live in CO, PA, TX, MI, VA, or CA
Must be AI forward and bring the judgment to make AI output accurate, useful, and client ready
Must have working experience in HubSpot
Content and creative experience is helpful, especially for social, email, landing pages, and campaign messaging
