Job Summary

The Research Assistant will work under supervision and will be responsible for assisting in running and managing on-going research projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• •Research and collect data through complex techniques and procedures.
• •Assist with data management and perform basic statistical analyses.
• •Develop assessment and evaluation tools.
• •Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• •Enrolled at least half-time, 3 credit hours per semester for graduates.
• •Maintain a TAMIU overall GPA of 3.0 for graduate students.
• •Must meet all other requirements as stated in TAMIU’s Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy (SAPP).

Preferred Experience and Education

GIS, and Remote sensing analysis, Data analysis in R or a similar platform, Statistical analysis. Bioacoustics, Field work in Ecology.

• •Proficiency in use of personal computer workstation with common software applications.
• •Ability to organize and multitask functions to ensure compliance with deadlines.
• •Outstanding customer service skills.
• •Excellent interpersonal relationship and communication skills.
• •Problem analysis and problem-solving skills.
• •Ability to learn and use multiple software programs.

• •Position requires on campus, face-to-face interactions.

• •Work schedules are created by the department based on departmental needs but ensure it does not conflict with class schedule.
• •Promptly complete all required training.
• •Submit time sheet biweekly.
• •Subject to funding and/or need.

Pay of Rate : $18.50/hour for up to 19 hours weekly
