As our Group Facilitator - Financial Capability, you'll help individuals and families experiencing financial stress build the practical knowledge, skills and confidence they need to strengthen their financial wellbeing and resilience.

Through engaging, community-based workshops and group programs, you'll make financial information accessible, practical and relevant to people's everyday lives.

Your opportunity

Working within our Financial Wellbeing & Community team, you'll plan, deliver and evaluate tailored financial capability workshops across a range of community settings, including community hubs, pantries, churches, partner agencies and other local venues.

Using a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach, you'll create safe and inclusive learning environments where participants can build their financial knowledge, develop practical skills and confidently apply what they learn to their own circumstances.

You'll also build relationships with local organisations and community networks, strengthen referral pathways and connect participants with Financial Wellbeing caseworkers and other specialist services when they need individual support.

With integrity and resilience, you will:

· Deliver engaging and interactive financial capability workshops and group education programs that build practical financial knowledge, confidence and positive financial behaviours.

· Adapt workshop content, resources and delivery to meet different learning styles, abilities, cultural backgrounds and participant needs.

· Support participants to apply what they learn to their own circumstances and provide practical tools and strategies they can continue using beyond the program.

· Build relationships and referral pathways with churches, community organisations, local services and other stakeholders.

· Identify participants who may benefit from additional support and warmly connect them with Financial Wellbeing caseworkers or other appropriate services.

What you'll brin g

You're an engaging facilitator who genuinely enjoys helping people build confidence and develop practical skills they can use in everyday life.

You'll understand the challenges faced by people experiencing financial hardship and know how to approach conversations about money with compassion, dignity and without judgement.

You're comfortable facilitating groups with diverse experiences and backgrounds, adapting your approach in the moment and creating an environment where people feel safe to participate and contribute.

You also share our organisational values of integrity, justice, compassion and excellence, embedding them in everything you do.

What's required:

· Degree in Social Work, Community Services or a related discipline, or diploma/other relevant qualification combined with substantial relevant experience.

· At least 2 years' experience working with diverse or disadvantaged communities, including people experiencing financial hardship.

· Experience facilitating, evaluating and adapting group programs to achieve participant outcomes.

· Strong communication, relationship-building and group facilitation skills.

· Current NSW Driver's Licence and valid Working with Children Check for paid employment.

What's preferred:

· Financial Literacy Education certification, or willingness to obtain this.

· Experience supporting people to build skills and confidence in personal finance and budgeting.

· Experience using client databases or CRM systems.

· Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary community services teams.
