Hardware (PCBA) Design and Verification Intern (Winter 2027 - 4 months)

The Opportunity:

4 month work term, starting January 2027

Join our hardware development team working on Ciena's Switching products and contribute to the implementation and validation of leading edge circuit packs.

How you will make an impact:

• •Perform hardware test and debug of new and existing circuit boards.
• •Manage board programming and prototype inventory.
• •Perform thorough design verification to validate functionality, performance, operating margins, and robustness.
• •Conduct signal integrity measurements, thermal stress testing, and component qualification.
• •Contribute to documentation such as Design Specification and Test Plans.
• •Work in Cadence CAD tools (Concept/Allegro).
• •Learn how fiber optic transport equipment and associated test equipment function.

The must haves:

• •Education: Actively enrolled in a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering,
• •Good communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.

Nice to haves:

• •Familiarity with lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, analyzers and test sets).
• •Understanding of high speed signaling, transmission lines, digital and analog design.
• •Experience designing and debugging hardware.
• •Experience with PCB schematic capture and layout tools.

Pay Range:

The hourly pay range for this position is $25.50 - $35.00
