Our technology brings together engineering and data to solve real-world challenges in infrastructure inspection. As we continue to expand our sensor capabilities, we're strengthening our Engineering team in Victoria to support the production and deployment of our hardware.

We're looking for a Production Specialist to help bring our sensor products from Engineering into reliable, field-ready production. This is a hands-on opportunity to work across hardware, testing, troubleshooting, and productization , while helping build the processes that will allow our production capabilities to scale.

About the role

This is a hands-on engineering role at the intersection of hardware, production, testing, and field operations.

As a Hardware Production Specialist , you will be responsible for assembling, testing, configuring, and maintaining Niricson's sensor systems and helping ensure that our hardware is reliable and ready for deployment.

You'll work closely with our Engineering and Data Collection teams, translating Engineering designs and documentation into consistently built, tested, and field-ready products.

As Niricson's sensor portfolio grows, you'll also help establish and improve the processes, workflows, and production practices that allow us to build and support our products more efficiently and at greater scale.

What You’ll Do

Build, Test & Maintain

Assemble and test electronic and mechanical sensor systems using Engineering documentation and specifications.

Configure and validate sensor systems prior to deployment.

Troubleshoot electro-mechanical assemblies and diagnose production or hardware issues.

Rework and repair failed or non-conforming products and identify opportunities to prevent recurring issues.

Maintain accurate build, configuration, and production records.

Support procurement and inventory requirements associated with sensor production.

Prepare, package, and coordinate shipment of sensor systems and equipment.

Maintain an organized and functional production workspace in our Victoria office.

Support Engineering & Product Development

Work closely with Engineering during New Product Introduction (NPI) activities.

Support the transition of new sensor designs from development into production.

Participate in product testing, iteration and troubleshooting.

Provide practical feedback to Engineering based on assembly, testing and production experience.

Help improve product designs and production processes based on lessons learned.

Participate in field testing of DRONIC® sensors and support troubleshooting of hardware- or data-related issues.

Support Data Collection

Work closely with the Data Collection team to ensure sensor systems are ready for upcoming field deployments and customer requirements.

Support DRONIC® asset maintenance, refurbishment, and readiness.

Help troubleshoot hardware issues identified during field operations.

Coordinate production priorities with upcoming operational requirements.

Build the Production Function

As Niricson continues to scale its hardware portfolio, you'll have the opportunity to help build the systems behind it.

Develop and improve repeatable production workflows.

Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and reliability.

Help establish processes that support increased production capacity.

Contribute to documentation, configuration control and quality practices.

What We’re Looking For

We're looking for someone who is technically capable, hands-on, and naturally inclined to make things work better.

You'll bring:

A Technologist Diploma or equivalent education in Electronics, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics or a related technical field.

3+ years of experience in production, manufacturing, hardware integration, product assembly or a similar technical environment.

Hands-on experience troubleshooting electro-mechanical systems.

The ability to read and work from technical drawings, documentation, specifications, and assembly instructions.

Experience working with an ERP, PLM or similar production/inventory management system.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

A methodical approach to testing, troubleshooting and quality control.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and operational teams.

It would be great if you also have:

Experience assembling and testing sensor systems.

Experience with electronics, circuit assemblies or firmware.

Experience with drones, robotics or other field-deployed technology.

Experience supporting New Product Introduction or hardware productization.

Experience developing or improving production processes.

Experience working in a small or rapidly growing technology company.

A genuine interest in emerging technology and innovative approaches to data collection.

In your first months, you'll become deeply familiar with our sensor systems, production requirements, and Engineering processes. You'll establish an organized production environment, build strong relationships with Engineering and Data Collection, and become someone the team can rely on when hardware needs to be built, tested, repaired or prepared for deployment.
