Head of Delivery

Location: Remote (hub or hub-aligned locations preferred — San Diego, CA / St. Petersburg, FL / Huntsville, AL/National Capital Region); regular travel to customer sites and PVM hubs

Reports To: PVM Integrator (COO)

Employment Type: Full-time

Billable Target: ~40% as a delivering Echo across the portfolio

About PVM, Inc.

PVM is an SBA 8(a)-certified, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business and Palantir USG Vanguard Partner delivering mission-critical federal IT services and consulting. Our teams are small, senior, and hands-on. Everything we do runs through five core values: No Jerks. Keep It Real. Mission and Outcome Obsessed. Own It. Better Together.

The Opportunity

PVM's Head of Delivery is our highest technical authority — and still the best Echo (Mission Integrator) in the building. This seat owns what PVM builds and how well we build it: the mission-outcome method, the technical standard, the architecture, the Echo craft bar, and the technical relationship with Palantir.

You're accountable for delivery outcomes across the company, but you don't personally run the day-to-day — staffing, utilization, and scheduling sit with Delivery Operations, which reports to you. You stay focused on where you create the most value: setting the technical bar, unsticking the hardest problems, and spending roughly 40% of your time hands-on building on live customer work.

This is a leadership seat that never stopped building.

What You'll Own

The mission-outcome method — define it, teach it, and make the call on whether a proposed outcome is real and buildable

The technical standard — ontology and data model design, build patterns, security posture, testing, and design review, written down so it doesn't live in one head

Super Echo capacity — stay billable at ~40%, dropping into live builds, workshops, or stalled outcomes to move them

The team — lead, manage, and hold accountable the Echo corps and Delivery Operations; own the technical hiring bar; hold Delivery Operations accountable without taking the work back

Palantir and customer credibility — be PVM's technical face to Palantir; advise customers; shape solutions alongside Growth

Replicable capability — document how PVM builds, create reusable accelerators, and develop hub-local technical leads

You'll Thrive Here If You

Still build — hands on keyboard, in a real customer environment, this year

Can hold a technical bar under pressure, including telling a hiring manager no when a project is short

Can lead, manage, and hold people accountable cleanly — praise, redirect, and hold someone to a standard in the same conversation

Are credible with a general officer in the morning and in an ontology design session in the afternoon

Fit PVM's values in your bones

Required Qualifications

10+ years in software, data, or forward-deployed engineering, with a track record of personally shipping systems into production

3+ years leading technical teams, including direct people leadership over engineers — hiring, developing, and managing performance

Hands-on Palantir experience (Foundry, Gotham, and/or AIP) or a directly comparable forward-deployed engineering model

Demonstrated ownership of a technical standard across more than one team

Executive presence with senior customer stakeholders

Experience holding an operations or program-management function accountable through a direct report

Willingness to carry a real billable delivery load (~40%) as a permanent feature of the seat

U.S. citizenship; ability to obtain and hold a security clearance

Preferred: Prior Palantir Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE), Deployment Strategist, or partner-side delivery leadership; defense/intelligence/national security experience; active or recent clearance; experience with the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS), a business management framework built around quarterly goal-setting, weekly team meetings, and performance scorecards.

How to Apply

Send your résumé and a short note (one page or less) describing something hard you personally built and what it changed for the people who used it. We're not looking for a polished cover letter — we're looking for evidence you've built something that mattered.
