About The Role

Hello Patient is looking for our first Head of Strategic Finance to build the financial function as we scale. This is a high-impact role working directly with senior leadership, with visibility into the full business and the opportunity to shape how we plan, measure performance, and make decisions.

You’ll own the core financial planning and reporting processes, build and maintain our financial model, support board and fundraising work, and partner closely with leaders across Sales, Product, Engineering, and Operations. Your work will help answer some of the most important questions facing the company: where we’re performing well, where we should invest, how we should plan for growth, and where we need to make tradeoffs.

This is a hands-on role for someone who wants meaningful ownership. You won’t be stepping into an established FP&A organization - you’ll build the processes, models, and reporting that leadership will rely on, while also having the opportunity to shape the finance function as the company grows.

Who You Are

You began your career in investment banking or private equity before moving into strategic finance at a high-growth company. You’re a hands-on builder who can own the details today - from financial models and month-end closes to customer contracts and board reporting - while building the finance and Revenue Operations functions we’ll need as Hello Patient grows.

What You'll Do

Own Finance & Reporting

Build and maintain our long-term financial model across revenue, headcount, operating expenses, cash, and runway

Own the monthly and quarterly budget vs. actuals process, analyze variances, and help leadership understand performance against plan

Own financial and operating reporting for senior leadership and the board, including KPIs, financial performance, burn, runway, and key business trends

Support fundraising processes through forecasts, financial analyses, diligence materials, data rooms, and investor requests

Manage our external accountants and tax partners and own an accurate, timely month-end close.

Partner on Business & Strategy

Work closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, Operations, and People on headcount planning, budgets, investments, and business cases.

Help leaders understand the financial impact of their decisions and bring financial discipline to how we allocate resources

Define and improve the metrics we use to understand the business, including ARR, retention, gross margin, customer cohorts, and other SaaS and healthcare operating metrics

Build models and analyses to support decisions around pricing, new products, hiring, go-to-market investments, and other company initiatives

Serve as the point person for customer order forms and contracts, partnering with Sales, Account Management, and legal counsel on pricing, commercial terms, approvals, and execution.

Build the Revenue Operations function and partner closely with Sales, Account Management, and Operations on forecasting, performance, and growth.

Work directly with the CEO and board on reporting, planning, and strategic decisions.

Build Finance & Revenue Operations

Establish the processes, systems, and reporting infrastructure we need as the company grows

Identify opportunities to improve how we plan, measure, and communicate financial performance

Bring structure and rigor to a function that is still being built, while keeping processes practical and lightweight

Over time, help build out the finance team and expand the scope of the function

What We're Looking For

Must Have

8+ years of experience, beginning in investment banking or private equity and followed by strategic finance or FP&A experience at a high-growth company

Strong financial modeling skills and the ability to build a model from scratch

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

Comfortable working with large amounts of data and turning it into clear insights

Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects from start to finish

Comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment where processes are still being built

Strong communication skills and the ability to explain financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders

Previous strategic finance or FP&A experience at a startup

Experience building financial processes from scratch

Preferred

Experience in healthcare, SaaS, or another high-growth technology company

Familiarity with SaaS metrics and unit economics

Experience supporting a fundraising process

Experience with tools such as QuickBooks, Ramp, Rippling, or similar

Compensation

Base salary: $175,000 - $200,000

Equity: Meaningful ownership in a fast-growing healthtech startup
