Summary

About the Position: Serves as a Health Technician, Wellness in the Directorate of Clinical Support, Department of Preventive Medicine Wellness/Life Space Center 1, at Camp Walker, Republic of Korea. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

  • Provide individual or group instructions to beneficiaries in the servicing area to assist with the completion of health screening questionnaires.
  • Perform individual follow-up and health education on the results of these questionnaires.
  • Make referrals to other health care providers as necessary.
  • Enter/retrieve specific data from questionnaires and generates follow-up letters according to specific needs.
  • Receive visitors and telephone calls.
  • Provide copy of abnormal screening results to patient and instructs them to follow up with appropriate provider.
  • Assist in the collection of statistical data for preparation of consolidated reports and composition of simple automated charts and presentations.
  • Coordinate with other Armed Forces Wellness Center (AFWC) staff regarding database management.

Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: providing health screening instructions and answering routine beneficiary health questions; conducting follow-up contacts, providing health education, and making referrals to clinical services; performing patient care and administrative duties using the Composite Health Care System (CHCS) or a similar electronic health record system.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
