Heavy Equipment Mechanic

SKB Environmental, a Waste Connections company, is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our GROWING team in Rosemount, MN.

Pay: $41-$50 per hour Depending on Experience!

Applicants for this role must possess a strong, dedicated, safety conscience work ethic along with a positive can-do attitude.

Hours are typically 6:30 AM – 3 PM , Monday thru Friday; Some opportunity for overtime

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• •Perform repairs and assigned preventative maintenance services.
• •Performs inspections, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulics, suspension brake and air systems on heavy equipment.
• •Utilize vehicle computer electro systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
• •Complete required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing heavy equipment, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
• •Conducts safety checks on equipment.
• •Maintain a clean, safe work environment in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

• •Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 60 pounds.
• •Work environment will require the ability to work in the field for all outdoor weather conditions.
• •Sometimes necessary to work in awkward or tight positions and to handle greasy or dirty tools

The Ideal Candidate will possess:

• •Minimum of 1+ years’ experience, that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified above (preferred); Entry Level Graduate considered.
• •Welding / Fabrication experience.
• •Knowledge of Hydraulic repairs.
• •Great written and verbal communication skills.
• •Well organized.
• •Must provide own personal tools.
