About the Project/Venue

Located in downtown Mesa, Arizona, Mesa Convention Center is the largest event venue in the East Valley. The venue features nearly 40,000 square feet of flexible meeting and exhibit space, 26 breakout rooms, 40,000 square feet of outdoor function space, and an outdoor amphitheater with capacity for up to 5,000 guests. From conferences and trade shows to community gatherings, festivals, and live entertainment, Mesa Convention Center provides a versatile setting for memorable events and experiences.

About the Role

The Housekeeping Manager plays a critical role in delivering a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for every event at Mesa Convention Center. This position leads the day-to-day housekeeping operation, overseeing staffing, training, scheduling, and facility cleanliness to ensure the venue consistently meets the highest standards.

Working closely with event management and operations teams, the Housekeeping Manager helps prepare the facility for a diverse range of events, from conventions and trade shows to concerts and community gatherings. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who is passionate about operational excellence, team development, and creating exceptional guest experiences.

WHAT YOU’LL DO (KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & OUTCOMES)

• •Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to ensure overall facility cleanliness
• •In conjunction with the Housekeeping Management team, ensure accurate employee records including attendance and disciplinary action
• •By direction, track expenditures within department to stay within department’s budget. Assist Director of Operations in developing operating budget for Housekeeping department
• •Research training opportunities for department and make recommendations for participation
• •Arrange annual training program for entire Housekeeping staff
• •Attend pre-convention meetings and weekly events meetings
• •Review Event Documents and prepare daily/weekly worksheets for the Housekeeping department
• •Delegate interdepartmental tasks pertaining to Housekeeping operations
• •Assist in administration of union agreement in conjunction with management team
• •Supervise crews as dictated by schedule conflicts in Supervisory absences
• •Communicate Departmental event charges to Event Management in a timely manner
• •Other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU BRING (QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE)

Education and/or Experience

• •Must have minimum of five years knowledge of general cleaning and techniques relative to housekeeping procedures
• •Must have knowledge of scheduling/staffing requirements for industry related field
• •Must have a minimum of three years’ experience in proven supervisory role in field.
• •Minimum high school diploma, some college course work desired

• •Ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks.
• •Demonstrated problem solving, with strong communication skills both verbal and written
• •Excellent organizational, planning and inter-personal skills

WORK ENVIRONMENT & TRAVEL

• •This role is based on site in Mesa, AZ
• •You may be required to work a non traditional schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
