Job Summary**

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced HSE Technician to join our team at Hitachi, Ltd. on a weekend-only basis. This role is crucial for ensuring the health, safety, and environmental compliance of our operations, specifically supporting the Atkins project. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting site inspections, enforcing safety protocols, and assisting with incident investigations during weekend shifts.

Job Responsibilities**

• * Conduct regular HSE inspections of the Atkins project site during weekend shifts to identify potential hazards and non-compliance issues.
• * Monitor and ensure adherence to all relevant health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
• * Assist in the investigation of incidents, accidents, and near misses, including gathering information, taking photographs, and preparing initial reports.
• * Provide guidance and support to project personnel on HSE best practices and requirements.
• * Verify the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by all workers on site.
• * Participate in safety briefings and toolbox talks as required.
• * Maintain accurate records of inspections, observations, and corrective actions taken.
• * Report any significant HSE concerns or incidents to the appropriate management personnel.
• * Assist with the implementation of emergency response procedures when necessary.
• * Contribute to a positive safety culture on site.

Job Qualifications**

• * High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.
• * Minimum of 2 years of experience in an HSE role, preferably within a construction, engineering, or industrial environment.
• * OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification required; additional safety certifications (e.g., First Aid/CPR, HAZWOPER) are a plus.
• * Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices.
• * Excellent observation skills and attention to detail.
• * Ability to effectively communicate safety information to diverse audiences.
• * Proficient in using standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
• * Ability to work independently and as part of a team during weekend shifts.
• * Must be physically capable of performing site inspections, which may involve walking, standing, climbing, and lifting.
• * Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
