Summary of Job Duties:

• This posting will be used to fill multiple positions.
• Temporary Part-Time PRN (as needed) / Shifts vary

The In-House Agency Plus Program offers PRN employment for 13-week intervals. Participants are required to work 36 hours per week for 13 weeks and will be paid a competitive hourly rate plus applicable weekend differentials. As a condition of participation, nurses must be willing and able to provide Med/Surg staffing support across multiple UAMS locations based on specialty, qualifications, competencies, patient care needs, and staffing requirements. Assignments may vary by shift, day, or week and may include multiple locations within the same workweek. Locations include:

• •UAMS Health
• •UAMS Benton/Bryant
• •The Orthopaedic and Spine Hospital (TOSH) at UAMS Health

Applicants cannot be currently employed by UAMS. Former UAMS employees must have been separated from employment for at least 180 days and be eligible for rehire.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• •Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with an Associate Degree, Nursing Diploma, Bachelor’s in Nursing, or Master's in Nursing
• •Valid RN License
• •A minimum of twelve (12) months of experience as an RN in an acute care hospital setting.
• •Experience obtained within the previous twelve (12) months may include up to six (6) months in a management role; however, at least six (6) months must have been in a direct patient care role within an acute care hospital.
• •Specialty areas, i.e.., Critical Care, F4 Surgical Trauma are required to pass a pre-screening testing with a minimum score of 80%
• •Chemotherapy certification may be required to work on Oncology units
• •Required to work two (2) major holidays and one (1) additional holiday, as designated by UAMS, and every other weekend, or an equivalent number of weekend shifts, throughout the duration of the 13-week agreement period
• •Excellent communication skills
• •Basic computer skills
• •Strong work ethic and high level of accountability

Preferred Qualifications:

2 or more years of RN experience

Employees in this role must be fitted for, capable of donning and performing routine tasks in personal protective equipment to include N95 masks, Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPR) or Controlled Air Purifying Respirators (CAPR).

Additional Information:

The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide direct patient care as an RN. This professional nursing role will require the ability to coordinate care for patients, triage patients, and work collaboratively with clinic providers, fellows, and staff. Requires the ability to effectively work with patient referral sources, facilitate appointments, coordinate transitions of care, and provide patient education on complex conditions. The RN will work with the individual patient, their families, and providers of care to develop and implement individual health plans.
