India - Quality Engineer (6 Months Contract)

Contract Type : Fixed term contract - 6 months

Main Purpose of Job:

To analyze the system application, business requirements and responsible for the development and execution of test plan, test scenarios, test cases and quality control process to improve product quality for delivering defect free high quality software systems exceeding business expectations for ISS.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Review and understand end to end business requirements, System/Application design, Integration, and functionalities/feature.

Review and understand enterprise & solution architectures, design implementation of new features end-to-end considering both functional & non-functional requirements and the entire tech stack – frontend, backend, database, middleware, AWS, and DevOps

Effectively contribute to test plan creation, test strategy creation, develop test scenarios, develop test cases, collect test data, create test batches, perform test cases, report defects, track defect.

Partner with other automation engineers to create a unified approach to automation across the team

Develop, execute and maintain automation test scripts, utilities, data sets leveraging commercial and/or open-source tools.

Contribute in meetings, Scrums, and other inter-team interaction

Research and make recommendations to the group regarding new automation technology available and its proper application.

Work with support, stakeholders, and developers to aid in replication of software defects.

Provide guidance in good test design and implementation techniques.

Automate testing of defects and assist with the maintenance of Regression Test suite.

Responsible for creation, delivery, and maintenance of automated scripts.

Prepare effort estimates for testing related tasks / projects.

Prepare status reports and communicates to stakeholders.

Propose/follow/develop SOP for all kind of test execution.

Practice DevOps with automation first mindset, with excellent understanding of branching strategies, version control, best configuration, testing practices, build management, CI/CD pipeline.

Person Specification :

Knowledge

Any Professional degree in computer science

Aability to quickly understand the business processes.

All type of testing including Accessibility testing, Acceptance testing, Black box testing, End to end testing, Functional and non-functional testing, Feature testing, Interactive testing, Integration testing, load testing, Performance testing, Regression testing, Sanity testing and Security testing

Technical Knowledge: SQL, C#.NET, Webservices (XML, SOAP, HTTP, REST API), REST SHARP, AWS Cloud.

Testing tools: TestRail, XUnit, Selenium, Sonar Cloud, Appium, Postman/SoapUI/ Rest-assured

Test Driven Development methodology

Agile product management tools: Jira, Confluence

DevOps tools (desirable): Bitbucket/GitHub, Sonar Cube, Team City, Selenium

Knowledge of maritime, Finance, Supply chain and logistics (desirable

Skills :

Test Automation, Test Driven Development methodology, C#.NET, XUnit, TestRail, Sonar Cloud, Selenium, Rest Sharp, Shift Left testing principles

Effective verbal & written communication skills in English

Excellent analytical, problem solving and trouble shooting skills

Strong collaborative and partner approach

Software engineering skills with high tech resilience

Agile development methodologies

DevOps mindset and Live site first approach

Experience :

5 - 8 years in Software testing and quality assurance including both manual and automation testing.

Creating and executing test plan, test cases, test scenarios, automate testing for software products.

Experienced at building Object Repositories within test automation environments.

A minimum of (3) years’ experience in an automated testing environment.

Exposure to Agile Methodologies.

Experienced in assessing and developing the test automation framework.

Exposure to Object Oriented programming language, C#

Prior experience with automated testing tools (Selenium);

Experience using defect management tools. Experience in agile methodologies

Desirable experience: Performance Testing, Security Testing, Test Driven Delivery.
