• Job Profile Summary
• Responsible for the development, implementation and carry through of age appropriate curriculum utilizing Project Construct Indicators, Developmentally Appropriate Practice and Accreditation Standards. Demonstrates the ability to understand each child's individual needs as well as the group. Assists each child in becoming an integral member of the group. Provides opportunities for children to construct their own knowledge through exploration and play experiences. Provides a smooth coordination of staff/child interaction and activities appropriately. Adaptations are provided when necessary to meet the individual learning style of each child. Relates to children in a positive and respectful manner. Responsible for the supervision and management of assigned classroom while providing a safe and nurturing environment. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our Mission, Values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Mercy Hospital South - Child Care Center - Teacher

Full-time - 40 hrs/week

Qualifications

• Education: CDA, 9 college credit hours, Associates Degree, or a degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or related education field.
• Licensure: Shall obtain at least (12) clock hours of approved child-care related training during each year of employment.
• Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Be able to communicate well, work with other people, and know what is developmentally appropriate.

• Equipment Used: Television, VCR, Filmstrip Projector.
• Preferred Experience: Prefer two years of experience with a degree.
