Duties

The Antitrust Division is seeking to fill an Information Technology Specialist (Cloud Engineer) position in the Engineering and Operations Section of the Technology Directorate. As an Information Technology Specialist (Cloud Engineer) you will: Lead cloud services requirements analysis, design, planning, implementation, administration, troubleshooting, monitoring, performance analysis, security, and cost management for the enterprise. Lead and oversee the analysis of cloud services and business requirements to identify potential new or improved IT solutions and innovations. Employ advanced program and project management techniques and methods to lead, manage, and coordinate major Information Technology (IT) program segments and projects. This includes identifying issues, determining resource requirements, providing guidance to staff, ensuring outcomes match objectives, and keeping management informed of progress and milestones. Assist, establish, and maintain robust governance, compliance, and risk management programs for the Agency's cloud services. Maintain a compliance posture, ensuring strict enforcement of encryption at rest and in transit and access. Administer rigorous data governance controls. Support system hardening and compliance of information assurance security controls such as IAVAs and STIGs. Maintain, test, and implement disaster recovery procedures and systems security contingency plans. Develop tools, scripts, or templates that automate cloud security controls, governance, compliance validations, and operational processes. Monitor overall platform health and triage operational issues using standard organizational alerting patterns. Research, evaluate, and deploy advanced cloud computing systems and large data analytics for clients in research and production areas. Prepare and present briefings on critical, complex, or controversial applications software issues to senior-level management officials and program staff. Develop and interpret policies, procedures, and strategies for use in developing and securely implementing applications software throughout the agency. Qualifications

You must meet the Basic Requirements and the Specialized Experience to qualify for the IT Specialist (eDiscovery), as described below. Specialized experience is experience that has provided you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position as described above, and that is typically in or related to this position being filled. To qualify for this position at the GS-14 level, your resume must reflect at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:GS-14 level: One full year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-13 performing ALL the following: Cloud Architecture & Serverless Operations: Experience with developing IT systems strategic approaches and solutions to resolve complex, unprecedented cloud-based administration issues. Program & Security Project Management: Experience applying program and project management principles to lead, plan, organize, and carry out major IT cloud programs of critical importance. Infrastructure as Code & Automation: Experience utilizing new and evolving IT technologies, programming frameworks, and automation tools to enhance agency systems. This includes creating and maintaining modules (CloudFormation) within organizational guardrails; configuring monitoring, logging, and alerting for production serverless workloads; and demonstrating a proficiency in reading and contributing to modern development languages such as Python or NodeJS. Identity, Governance, & Technical Consultation: Experience providing technical expertise, guidance, consultation, and advice to senior agency officials on complex IT cloud administration issues.
