Position Summary

The Infrastructure Electrical Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Manager is responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and maintenance of all electrical power distribution systems. This position is critical for maintaining the continuous, safe, and efficient operation of the electrical infrastructure necessary to support round-the-clock manufacturing operations. The role requires extensive experience in managing complex electrical O&M (Operations & Maintenance) programs, including preventative maintenance (PM), predictive maintenance (PdM), and emergency corrective actions in a high-stakes industrial environment. The individual in this position is expected to lead the development and optimization of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintenance workflows to maximize system uptime and eliminate single points of failure. Operational excellence must be achieved with an absolute emphasis on safety, incident reduction, and rigorous adherence to electrical codes. Samsung Austin Semiconductor is a 24/7/365 factory where utility interruptions are catastrophic; therefore, a "zero-outage" mindset is mandatory.

Role and Responsibilities

Here’s What You’ll Be Responsible For:

• •Lead the development, ownership, and auditing of the operational processes and maintenance schedules required to ensure the safe and error-free operation of the electrical grid. Mentor junior operations engineers and technicians in reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) and best practices.
• •Interface with Manufacturing and Equipment teams to manage power load requirements and coordinate planned maintenance windows.
• •Exercise **Extreme Ownership** over the electrical infrastructure, accepting full responsibility for system stability, equipment health, and the rapid restoration of power in the event of a failure.
• •Develop and oversee detailed Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all operational switching, maintenance activities, and emergency repairs to ensure zero safety incidents.
• •Manage third-party maintenance vendors, service contracts, and specialized technicians to ensure all facility electrical assets are maintained to OEM specifications.
• •Lead the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) process for any electrical anomalies or outages, implementing permanent corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• •Proactively identify aging infrastructure and develop lifecycle replacement plans (CapEx) to mitigate the risk of equipment failure.
• •Perform regular site audits and thermographic/power quality inspections to verify the health of electrical equipment and ensure compliance with safety and NEC standards.
• •Demonstrate strong leadership skills to coordinate between Facilities, Manufacturing, and EHS organizations to balance the need for critical maintenance with the demands of aggressive production schedules.

Skills and Qualifications

Here's what you'll need:

Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum years of experience required

• •4-year degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
• •Minimum 11 years of experience in electrical operations and maintenance within a heavy industrial setting. Semiconductor fab or Data Center experience is highly preferred.
• •Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or PMP certification is a plus.
• •OSHA 30-Hour Construction/General Industry certification is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Software, and Tools

• •Expert knowledge of industrial power distribution systems (Hight/Medium/Low Voltage), switchgear, UPS systems, generators, and ATS, as well as deep familiarity with NEC, NFPA 70E (Electrical Safety in the Workplace).
• •Strong crisis management skills and the ability to lead technical teams under pressure during emergency outage scenarios.
• •Advanced data analysis skills using Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Power Query) to track Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).
• •Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems for tracking work orders, asset history, and PM scheduling.
• •Proficiency with electrical monitoring tools (Power Quality Analyzers, Infrared Thermography, and Arc Flash Analysis software like ETAP or SKM).
• •Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical failures into executive-level briefings.
• •Permanent right to work in US and ability to be "on-call" and work overtime/non-scheduled days to support critical facility emergencies.

The current base salary range for this role is between $147,000 - $200,500. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
