Duties
Analyst is responsible for the understanding and utilization of Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT), Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), Human Intelligence (HUMINT), Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT), and other intelligence sources into a comprehensive project team, taking initiative and requiring minimal oversight to provide unique and unprecedented solutions to key intelligence problems. Analyst is responsible for authoring analytically rigorous, data-driven written intelligence reports adhering to Intelligence Community Directives (ICD) standards and briefing findings to a variety of audiences. Analyst is responsible for developing and maintaining a thorough knowledge of and interaction with all relevant NASIC, Air Force, and IC mission partners. Qualifications
***THIS IS A DEVELOPMENTAL POSITION THAT CAN BE FILLED AT THE GG-07, GG-09, OR THE GG-12 GRADE LEVEL*** This is a GG-07/09 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-07/09 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Entry/Developmental" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-07/09 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the 07/09 grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job. In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. GG-07/09 EXPERIENCE: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: knowledge of a wide range of concepts, principles, and practices in a professional or administrative occupation, such as would be gained through extended graduate study or experience and skill in applying this knowledge to difficult and complex work assignments; or a comprehensive, intensive, practical knowledge of a technical field and skill in applying this knowledge to the development of new methods, approaches, or procedures. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency. OR EDUCATION (GG-07): 1 full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement. EDUCATION (GG-09): Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for the grade levels specified in the table, and may be computed by first determining the applicant's total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determining the applicant's education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; and then adding the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for that grade level. Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify applicants for positions at grades GS-9 and GS-11. GG-12 EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. AND KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of a wide range of intelligence research and collection methods, techniques, and practices to use multi-source intelligence data and information to develop comprehensive analytic assessments of areas and activities of interest. Knowledge of advanced intelligence dissemination principles, concepts, and methods to disburse semi-complex to complex information/situations attained from multiple sources. Knowledge of the national intelligence community, Joint, DoD structure, organizations, and mission/functions, inter-relationships and operations. Skill in conducting unbiased, difficult research and analysis, identify appropriate available data sources, and produce analytically thorough and comprehensively sourced intelligence products. Ability to communicate effectively with others, both orally and in writing, in working out solutions to problems or questions related to the work, writing clear and concise intelligence products, and delivering written and/or verbal presentations on intelligence production. Ability to maintain control of classified material, assimilate disparate data, render knowledgeable and accurate assessments of the implication of such data estimates, and make effective recommendations. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED: Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety. Irregular hours and overtime may be required to meet work requirements and deadlines PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
