The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Senior Engineer managing the exploitation of foreign weapon systems and ensuring sustainment of exploitation capabilities for the Center and the Squadron.

Duties

DUTY 1: Provides leadership and technical direction to all engineers, technicians and government contractors in all matters related to exploitation execution and requirements. DUTY 2: As a Senior Engineer, performs a broad range of reverse engineering analyses and/or engineering assignments as a subject matter expert to exploit foreign weapons systems and establish their design, performance capabilities, limitations and vulnerabilities. DUTY 3: Responsible for engaging with customers utilizing exploitation outputs and creating custom environments to support vulnerability analysis.

Qualifications

This is a GG-14 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-14 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Senior" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-14 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the 14 grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job. In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Professional and Scientific Positions. BASIC REQUIREMENT: ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING SERIES (0850), COMPUTER ENGINEERING SERIES (0854), ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING SERIES (0855), OR AEROSPACE ENGINEERING SERIES (0861) A. Degree: Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. Combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering. Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Advanced professional knowledge and mastery of a broad range of electrical, systems, and software engineering and other scientific concepts, principles, standards, methods, techniques, practices, and procedures. 2. Subject matter expertise in the principles, concepts, techniques, and methods used in conducting reverse engineering exploitation tasks, reporting production status and issues, and documenting results. 3. Subject matter expertise in hardware and software engineering related newly developed methods, approaches, and procedures to exploit foreign systems. Mastery of principles related to aerospace and weapon system software applications. 4. Knowledge and understanding of agency, AF, DoD and national-level doctrine, regulations, policies, guidelines, requirements, and initiatives related to assigned program(s) and/or project(s). 5. Superior written and oral communication skills are required to interact with customers, exploitation partners, and AF senior leadership; and skill in establishing and maintaining effective relationships, negotiating complex issues, and resolving conflicts based on mature judgment, experience, and recognized professional standing. 6. Ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; to communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing; and to work in a professional manner with peers and management. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED: 1. This position is covered by the DCIPS, and as such will subject the incumbent to those examinations and or tests that are necessary to obtain and retain a security clearance and any special accesses required by the position in accordance with AFI 36-1101. This position is a testing designated position and as such requires periodic urinalysis testing. Failure to comply with any of the special requirements when required, will subject the incumbent of this position to reassignment or disciplinary adverse action, including demotion or removal. 2. Position is designated special-sensitive and requires eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed. 3. Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety. 4. Prior experience with radio frequency/electronic warfare data processing, engineering, and analysis is highly desired. 5.
