Summary

Duties

• •You will establish and execute system level testing in support of the TRIDENT II D5 Strategic Weapon System (SWS) early system level integration and virtual testing using hardware, software, and emulators.
• •You will formulate a weapon system level test program in a shore-based environment through which virtual SWS Integration/performance testing is accomplished.
• •You will develop the framework for Developmental Test and Operational Testing in support of PAE SSP's subprograms.
• •You will prepare and defend budget packages and manage contract actions as required in support of system level test program objectives
• •You will oversee the test program as it matures through the addition of Hardware in the Loop (HWIL) testing activities and early pre-production HWIL/Software in the Loop (SWIL) testing at the SWS level.
• •You will develop, integrate, and implement solutions to diverse, highly complex problems across multiple areas and disciplines.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-03 (GS-13 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Engineering experience in the Strategic Weapon System or equivalent US Navy test program as well as experience in DoD Instruction in 5000.89 Test and Evaluation. Education

Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess: 08XX - Professional Engineering Series: Professional Engineering Series (08XX) - Degree: A professional engineering degree from an ABET-accredited college or university; OR a degree with curriculum in differential and integral calculus, with additional courses in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics; or electronics; OR Professional Engineering Series (08XX) - Substitution of Education/Experience: A combination of education and experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying professional engineering; and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering. The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of the following: (a) professional registration, (b) evidence of successfully passing the Engineer-in-Training (EIT) examination; (c) successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified above; or (d) successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in engineering technology or in an appropriate professional field, e.g., physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a degree in engineering provided that it included at least 1 year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance.
