The Opportunity

We are seeking a Student Intern to support field operations related to the safe and reliable transportation of natural gas. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience working with natural gas compression equipment, field maintenance activities, troubleshooting processes, and operational procedures. The Student Intern will work alongside experienced technicians, participate in field projects and inspections, and develop practical technical skills that support the safe and efficient delivery of energy.

What you'll do

• •Support field operations while demonstrating TC Energy's core values of Safety In Every Step, Personal Accountability, One Team, and Active Learning
• •Assist with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of natural gas compressors and related equipment
• •Gain hands-on experience using field tools, equipment, and operational procedures
• •Learn and apply safety protocols and procedures for field work
• •Participate in site visits, equipment inspections, and project activities under supervision
• •Develop technical and problem-solving skills applicable to a field technician role

Minimum Qualifications

• •Currently enrolled in an accredited Mechanical, Chemical, Pipeline, Automation, or related technical / trades program
• •Completion of at least one academic term prior to the start of the work term in May 2027
• •Returning to full-time studies immediately following the work term
• •Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the work term

Preferred Qualifications

• •Exposure to mechanical equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, or field operations through coursework or projects
• •Knowledge of natural gas compression systems, industrial equipment, or related technical fields
• •Demonstrate a safety mindset, in a professional and personal setting
• •Exhibit the TC Energy corporate values and incorporate them into work activities and initiatives
• •Strong interpersonal and communicative skills to work efficiently in a collaborative team environment
• •Commitment to building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• •Ability to accurately analyze information and deal with ambiguity
• •Experience working in a dynamic and challenging environment, and adaptable to changing priorities
• •Ability to multi-task effectively, with strong organizational and time management skills
• •Reflective and committed to continuous improvement and personal development

This position requires candidates to:

Successfully complete pre-employment medical screening including drug and alcohol testing
