IS Trainer and Informatics Specialist

The IS Trainer and Informatics Specialist applies knowledge of healthcare and informatics to assist in development and ongoing modification of computerized healthcare systems. Develops education and training of the EMR product as well as other applications used within the agency

Job Description:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:

· Analyzes problematic issues, tests potential solutions, and promotes resolution.

· Develops and revises as necessary education related to the EMR.

· May assist with process development and education for email applications, web applications and other office solutions.

· Provides ongoing support to staff on issues related to documentation in the EMR and home health regulatory requirements that govern documentation standards.

· Provides IS training in the office and remotely

· Works collaboratively with the Epic team to coordinate implementation and ongoing education.

· Advises Epic analysts on improvements needed for clinical home health workflows.

· Clarify and resolves product or service issues presented by staff and others on the team

· Work collaboratively with the Education, Quality and Operations teams to identify opportunities for orientation and continuing staff support

· Apply clinical knowledge to make recommendations to improve efficiencies and workflows within the EMR.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education :

Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems, or extensive experience in lieu of

Licensure, Certification & Registration:

Registered Nurse or Physical Therapist licensed in the state of Massachusetts

Experience : Minimum three years certified home health experience, including experience in OASIS documentation. Prior experience in an education role preferred.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities :

· Technical, analytical and troubleshooting skills

· Ability to apply adult learning principles in education programs

· Extensive computer skills and proficiency with multiple software programs

· Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

· Attention to detail and accuracy

· Well-developed written and oral communication skills

· Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid regulations in home care

· Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills

· Team Player

Pay Range:

$79,040.00 USD - $104,000.00 USD

The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
