IT Senior Project Manager

In this context, we are looking for a Senior IT Project Manager based in Belgium to play a central role in the technology deployment of our future European Distribution Center.

As the primary local IT Project Manager for Project Uno, you will be at the forefront of an extraordinary undertaking: the greenfield build-out of a 200,000 m² state-of-the-art European Distribution Center (EDC) in Belgium — a flagship investment that will redefine Skechers' logistics capabilities across the continent for years to come.

This is a high-visibility, high-impact mission for an experienced project leader who thrives in complex, fast-moving environments and is energized by the challenge of building something from the ground up.

Operating within Skechers' Global IT Project Management Office, you will work at the intersection of technology, operations, and business strategy — bridging US-based global IT leadership and local European stakeholders to ensure that all technology initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

You will exercise functional leadership across cross-functional teams spanning DC Operations, IT, Engineering, and third-party vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management & Delivery

• •Champion Skechers IT Project Delivery standards, practices, and tools
• •Manage all phases of the project lifecycle: requirements gathering, design, build, test, and deployment
• •Create and manage comprehensive project plans including risk mitigation plans, communication plans, resource requirements, milestones, and project cost tracking — organizing teams, setting objectives, managing operational changes, and transitioning projects to operations
• •Develop and/or review estimates and estimating assumptions for project schedules, effort, and cost using established models and past experience; review and manage all changes to requirements through a formally defined scope change process
• •Measure and monitor progress at clearly defined milestones to ensure delivery on time, within budget, and to expected quality standards
• •Track and report project spend against defined budget line items; ensure compliance with all SOX requirements
• •Own and drive the implementation of Manhattan Associates Active Warehouse Management (AWM) in the greenfield build-out of the Belgium EDC

Technical & Systems Integration

• •Collaborate daily with DC Operations, Engineering, IT Infrastructure, network, cloud, and security teams to identify requirements, process flows, and technical dependencies; coordinate all project activities with business owners and support teams
• •Translate distribution requirements into clear objectives and timelines for real estate, construction, facilities, security, and IT infrastructure teams
• •Ensure a solid understanding of Warehouse Automation and API integrations with connected systems including legacy ERP, Customs, and Bonded Warehouse applications

Stakeholder Management & Communication

• •​Foster transparent and accountable communication across all project workstreams, ensuring permanent alignment between technical and functional teams
• •Communicate regularly with Global IT PMO leadership (US) and local Belgium leadership on project risks, status updates, and strategic alignment
• •Gather requirements and drive solutions by closely collaborating with internal and external stakeholders through all roadmap stages
• •Engage and manage vendor relationships, negotiating changes to commitments, scope, and requirements as needed

The Ideal Candidate

Education & Experience

• •Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; equivalent work experience accepted Master's Degree preferred
• •8+ years of experience as an IT Project Manager, with at least 10 years of overall work experience; experience in a DC/logistics environment strongly preferred
• •Ideal background: WCS/MHE Consultant or similar profile with a holistic, bigpicture view of how DC systems interact
• •Previous experience in warehousing, 3PL, warehouse automation, or distribution strongly preferred
• •Experience with the infrastructure and operational needs of a large-scale Distribution Center, including DC facility technology deployments and DC operations
• •Experience coordinating cross-functional teams in a functional (nonhierarchical) leadership capacity
• •PMP, CSM Certifications preferred

Technical Skills

• •Experience with DC technologies: Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) — ideally Manhattan Associates Active Warehouse Management, Material Handling Equipment (MHE), and Warehouse Control Systems (WCS)
• •Experience implementing Warehouse Management Systems in a large Distribution Center
• •Strong understanding of Warehouse Automation and API integrations with legacy ERP, Customs, and Bonded Warehouse systems
• •Experience tracking and reporting project spend against defined budgets; familiarity with SOX compliance requirements
• •Proven ability to execute high-profile, multi-million-dollar DC and logistics technology projects
• •Experience with IT service management frameworks and tools (e.g., ServiceNow) and IT operations processes
• •Experience managing projects with onshore/offshore teams including third party installation teams
• •Experience with formal SDLC, ITIL, and infrastructure delivery methodologies
• •Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Atlassian, or similar PPM tools
• •In-depth experience with Agile and hybrid methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall)
• •Multi-lingual proficiency required: English (mandatory) + French and/or Dutch

• •Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication and presentation skills
• •Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
• •Ability to take strategic direction from Global PM leadership (US) while operating autonomously on the ground in Belgium
• •Proven track record working with both technical and functional teams in a DC/logistics environment
• •Expertise in managing vendor relationships and negotiating changes to commitments and requirements
• •Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• •Collaborative team player with a "can-do" attitude and the ability to see tasks through to completion with minimal guidance
• •Proven leadership and influencing skills in a functional (non-hierarchical) environment
• •Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement

Work Conditions

• •This position requires a minimum on-site presence of 4 days per week at the Belgium EDC location
• •The IT Senior Project Manager must be willing and able to travel occasionally to the US (approx. 8 weeks over the course of the project)
