Summary

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK SERVICES/SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION), Position Description Number T6324000 and is part of the 224 ADG, National Guard. This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants. Veterans' preference does not apply to this vacancy due to internal merit promotion.

Duties

As an IT Specialist (Network Services/Systems Administration), GS-2210-12, you will serve as the senior system administrator providing planning, directing, and coordinating of Command and Control (C2) missions systems' installation, maintenance and support. Serves as lead system administrator, trainer and supervisor, and provides Information Assurance (lA) support.

Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, and/or training that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process. Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have one year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade that demonstrates responsibility for the overall planning and coordinating of the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of mission systems hardware and software. Experience serving as Network Administrator responsible for the overall integrity of the BCS-F networks and their ability to meet mission requirement. Demonstrated responsibility for overall training efforts, planning, and coordination of C2 systems' administrator and maintenance training for the Eastern Air Defense Sector. Experience serving as the Network Security Officer responsible for managing network security and protection, administering security measures and performing security auditing. experience ensuring compliance with governing directives on physical, operational, and communications security, implementing network security and protection.
