• •Core Knowledge & Skills: Works across multiple languages and platforms, designs and implements architectural decisions, applies design patterns, cloud-native services, IAAS/PAAS/SAAS basics, and secure coding practices (e.g., OWASP Top 10).

Work & Complexity: Performs complex tasks under limited guidance, integrates and troubleshoots distributed or cloud services, and optimizes performance and scalability.

Quality & Independence: Sets a high bar for code quality, multitasks effectively, owns and corrects errors quickly, and drives continuous improvement.

Teamwork & Communication: Leads code reviews, mentors teammates, and translates technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

Consulting & Engagement: Works directly with clients without oversight, writes technical RFP content when needed, nurtures client relationships, and manages routine client concerns.


As your initial project assignment, you will support the unique needs of our client as a Jira Engineer.



The Jira Engineer administers, configures, and optimizes Jira and Jira Service Management environments to support organizational processes, ensuring reliability, scalability, and adherence to governance standards across Jira Data Center and Jira Cloud. This role emphasizes configuration, system design, workflow engineering, and platform administration.

Key Responsibilities

Configure and maintain Jira workflows, transitions, issue types, issue type schemes, screen schemes, field configurations, custom fields, contexts, permission schemes, and notification schemes.

• •Use ScriptRunner to implement advanced validators, conditions, post-functions, automations, and administrative scripts.
• •Manage Jira Service Management configurations, including request types, portals, Assets schemas, object types, automation rules, and service workflows.
• •Create and tune JQL queries for dashboards, reports, filters, SLA tracking, and operational visibility.
• •Administer Jira Data Center and Jira Cloud environments, including user management, permissions, global system settings, performance monitoring, and maintenance routines.
• •Support REST API connectivity and integrations, working with JSON structures to connect Jira with diverse enterprise systems.
• •Work with SQL databases (Data Center) for troubleshooting, analysis, reporting, and backend system insights.
• •Collaborate with business teams to gather requirements and translate them into maintainable Jira solutions that scale across departments.
• •Ensure adherence to best practices, governance standards, security requirements, and platform stability guidelines.
• •Provide user support, documentation, training, and operational guidance for Jira and JSM functionality.

Required For This Opportunity

• •Active Top Secret Clearance
• •Bachelor’s degree in relevant field and 5 years of Jira administration experience
• •Experience with workflow engineering and creating custom workflows
• •experience with ScriptRunner automation
• •Experience with REST API
• •Experience with SQL/databases
• •Jira DC/Cloud operational management
• •permission/security model expertise
• •Strong troubleshooting and process design experience



At AIS, we are committed to offering competitive and fair compensation that reflects the skills, experience, and contributions of each team member.

The targeted base salary range for this role is $100,000-$150,000 per year. Please note that this range is provided as a guideline and the final offer will be based on several factors, including but not limited to, skillset and competencies, level of experience, education, certifications, and location.
