Reporting to the Assistant Director in the Office of Student Engagement (OSE), Student Event Assistants will support the goals of the office and the division of Student Success within The New School. This position primarily focuses on the logistical support for OSE related Events/Initiatives as well as other Student-Led Events/Programs with occasional collaboration from Student Activities Board (SAB).

The Office of Student Engagement (OSE) at The New School supports the university's educational mission by fostering opportunities for meaningful engagement and connections beyond the classroom. SLI encourages students to actively participate in the university community by joining or starting a student organization, engaging in recreational activities, or attending events and programs organized by the Student Activities Board.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide onsite event management support during SLI and student-led events and programs.

Participate in recurring student staff meetings and retreats.

Assist in the marketing plan, communication, and promotion of Student-Led programs through the Narwhal Nation and across major social media and communications platforms.

Maintain, organize, inventory, and catalog office supplies and Storage Spaces of the Office of Student Leadership and Involvement across Fanton Hall and the University Center.

The Student Event Assistant will also cross-train and work collaboratively across SLI Student workers and volunteers where needed.

Photography: If applicable, provide documentation and photography support at campus events and programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

This Position requires a Federal Work-Study Award

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to creatively problem solve, multi-task, and function in a collaborative work environment.

Capacity to provide and receive constructive critique.

WORK MODE

Hybrid/Split - Employees hired for this position have regularly scheduled , consistent percentage of time on campus (ex 1-4x/week) and also work some of the time remotely. #LI-DNI

Hourly Rate: $17-$19/hr
