Junior Robotics Software Engineer (ROS)

About REVEL

REVEL is an AI robotics company developing physical intelligence for general-purpose humanoid robots. We capture the force, dexterity and intent of human work with our Neural Gambit wearable, and use it to train RAI, the intelligence that powers our robots. REVEL is headquartered in Palo Alto, California, with R&D and engineering facilities in Prague and Hradec Králové, Czech Republic. This role is on-site with our engineering team in the Czech Republic.

Support robot software and locomotion work.

Responsibilities

Help with ROS nodes and integration

Test on hardware

Support locomotion experiments

Requirements

1+ years of relevant professional experience

Working knowledge of ROS or ROS2 (nodes, topics, services, launch files) from coursework, personal projects, or prior internships

Proficiency in Python and/or C++

Basic familiarity with Linux and the command line

Understanding of fundamental robotics concepts (coordinate frames, kinematics, sensor data)

Comfortable using Git for version control

Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn in a hands-on environment

Bonus qualifications

Experience with simulation tools (Isaac Sim, ROS MuJoCo, RViz, or similar)

Exposure to control theory basics (PID, feedback loops)

Experience with sensors and hardware integration (LiDAR, cameras, IMUs)

Familiarity with Docker or containerized development environments

Contributions to open-source robotics projects or a robotics club/competition team (FRC, RoboCup, etc.)

Basic understanding of computer visionBonuses
