The role

The Kidzone Support Officer plays a vital role in the delivery of quality child facing entertainment and distraction programs and initiatives.

This hands-on position is based in our Kidzone playroom and supports the day-to-day operation of impact programs that improve the patient and family experience, including Kidzone playroom, Loans and Bedside Play. While primarily commencing in Kidzone, the role may also be deployed across other impact programs to meet operational demands.

This is a casual position , 9.00 am - 4.30 pm, Monday – Friday, and is based at Queensland Children's Hospital. This position will provide additional support to the team when required due to staff absence or busy periods.

Working closely with Kidzone team and the boarder Impact team, you will be responsible for:

Lead volunteers and families in the use of Kidzone and Loans digital signin/out systems for accurate records management.

Ensure Kidzone child supervision is delivered within care restrictions

Coordinate daily play, resource loans and birthday present requests, ensuring they are facilitated in a timely manner

Assist the Impact Programs team with other activities, including setup and pack down for Christmas events.

Key criteria

To be successful in this role, you will possess the following:

Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in relevant or similar role or industry.

Demonstrated ability to follow processes and procedures with a high level of detail.

Excellent time management, organisation and prioritisation skills with the ability multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Problem resolution and analytical skills (can show initiative).

Excellent customer service and people skills with an ability to maintain a professional demeanour.

Confident computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite and the use of web-based platforms, to undertake administration tasks relevant to the role.

A strong understanding of professional boundaries, privacy and confidentiality.

Experience in the health or childcare industry would be advantageous.

Experience in working with and guiding volunteers.
