McIver Clinic has been a trusted provider of urological care in Jacksonville since 1921. With multiple locations throughout the greater Jacksonville area and more than 27 providers, we provide comprehensive, patient-centered care across the full spectrum of urology.

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Lab Assistant to join our team. This position supports the daily operations of our clinical laboratory by assisting with specimen handling, routine testing processes, documentation, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, attentive to detail, and comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Essential Job Functions

• •Receive, label, prepare, and process patient specimens according to established procedures.
• •Assist with routine urine specimen testing and processing.
• •Accurately document specimen information and testing information.
• •Follow established laboratory procedures and quality control processes.
• •Prepare and maintain laboratory supplies and equipment.
• •Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of the laboratory work area and equipment.
• •Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• •Follow established safety and infection-control procedures.
• •Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA requirements.
• •Communicate questions, discrepancies, or concerns to the appropriate supervisor or clinical staff.
• •Work collaboratively with providers and other members of the healthcare team.
• •Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• •High school diploma or equivalent required.
• •Previous laboratory or clinical experience required.
• •1–2 years of laboratory experience preferred.
• •Associate or bachelor's degree in medical laboratory technology preferred.
• •Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• •Good organizational and time-management skills.
• •Ability to follow established procedures and maintain accurate documentation.
• •Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• •Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Education & Experience

Required:

• •High school diploma or equivalent
• •Previous laboratory or clinical experience

Preferred:

• •1–2 years of laboratory experience
• •Associate or bachelor's degree in medical laboratory technology
