Compensation Considerations:

• Job Grade: 114
• Hourly Pay: 18.27 - 18.67 DOE

Shift Hours: 5:00 pm - 1:30 am with Rotating Weekends, Days Off During the Week

• Shift Differentials: 2nd Shift 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm 9% and 11:00 pm - 7:00 am 14%
• Weekend Shift Differential: 8%
• Training Schedule: Must be able to do either : 0630 am -2:30 pm (Tue- Sat) or 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm ( Sun-Thu) or 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm (Mon- Fri) for approximately 12 weeks

Your impact as a Laboratory Technician is vital. Support Vitalant's life-saving mission by operating within the laboratory handling responsibilities that include component production, labeling, record reviewing and data entry.

As a Laboratory Technician, you'll get to

• •Maintain accurate data records and documentation.
• •Prepare blood components through processes such as centrifugation, separation, freezing, thawing, washing, storage, sterile docking, transformation, and filtration.
• •Ensure product quality, volume, appearance, and time requirements.
• •Conduct labeling for routine and special components and implement quarantine procedures.
• •High School or GED required
• •No Experience Required

SKILLS/ABILITIES

• •Must be able to stand for long periods of time, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• •Must be detail oriented and possess strong communication, organization, and analytical skills.
• •Must be able to maintain donor, patient and employee confidentiality.
• •Must possess basic keyboarding skills and the ability to handle and operate laboratory equipment.
• •Must be able to work flexible shifts and overtime when necessary.
