Position Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Entry-Level Trainee – Land Survey Drafter to join our growing team. This role is designed for recent high school graduates or individuals interested in beginning a career in land surveying and drafting.

The trainee will receive hands-on training and mentorship in industry-standard drafting software, surveying concepts, and company processes, with the opportunity to progress into a full-time Drafter I position based on performance, skill development, and business needs. In this role, you will work closely with experienced drafters and land survey technicians to assist in preparing accurate survey drawings, boundary maps, plot plans, and related documents.

Key Responsibilities & Training Focus

• •Final Surveys: Learn to compile field data, notes, and sketches to assist in producing accurate boundary and topographic surveys.
• •Form Surveys: Assist with drafting setbacks and form surveys for residential construction projects.
• •Plot Plans: Learn to prepare site plans showing property boundaries, easements, setbacks, and proposed structures.
• •Quality Control: Review drafted plans for completeness, clarity, and accuracy under the guidance of experienced team members.
• •Training & Development: Participate in training sessions, software instruction, and skill-building activities designed to develop the knowledge and proficiency required for a Drafter I position.

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills

• •High school diploma or equivalent; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
• •Basic understanding of geometry, algebra, and spatial relationships.
• •Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar drafting software is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
• •Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• •Good written and verbal communication skills.
• •Ability to learn new software, processes, and technical concepts.
• •Willingness to receive feedback and continuously develop drafting skills.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• •Primarily office-based work performed at a computer workstation.
• •Occasional visits to field or project sites may be required for training purposes.
