LEAD FIREFIGHTER (BASIC LIFE SUPPORT/HAZARDOUS MATERIALS TECHNICIAN)

Summary

You will serve as a LEAD FIREFIGHTER (BASIC LIFE SUPPORT/HAZARDOUS MATERIALS TECHNICIAN) in the Fire Suppression Division of NAVBASE KITSAP SILVERDALE WA.

Duties

• •You will lead and direct a crew of three or more firefighters in firefighting and rescue operations accompanied by firefighting vehicles and equipment.
• •You will develop and maintain a variety of documentation.
• •You will assign crew in the performance of crash/rescue and firefighting duties where assigned.
• •You will comply with health, safety, and environmental rules and procedures and performs work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work environment.
• •You will perform hazard and risk assessment and conduct a complete incident analysis.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience leading a crew of three or more firefighters in executing tactical suppression, search and rescue, and hazardous materials response operations under high-stress conditions. Experience serving as the On-Scene Incident Commander during initial response phases, making rapid tactical assessments, establishing incident command, and deploying resources to protect lives, property, and the environment. Experience directing the positioning and tactical deployment of major motorized firefighting apparatus such as pumpers, aerial ladder trucks. Experience developing, implementing, and delivering rigorous training programs to junior firefighters in fire protection, prevention, emergency medical services, and specialized equipment usage. Experience monitoring apparatus water/foam levels during active combat scenarios, applying complex hydraulic principles to ensure continuous, safe water flow to handlines and rescue personnel.
