More about the role

Application Management & Ownership

• •Own the global SAP GTS application landscape from a functional and application-management perspective.
• •Ensure the availability, stability, performance, and continuous improvement of SAP GTS.
• •Manage the application lifecycle, including incidents, problems, service requests, changes, releases, upgrades, and enhancements.
• •Establish and maintain application management processes, standards, and documentation.
• •Act as the escalation point for complex SAP GTS issues and coordinate resolution with internal teams, SAP, and external service providers.
• •Manage and prioritize the global GTS application backlog in collaboration with business stakeholders.
• •Ensure appropriate testing, release management, and deployment practices for GTS changes.

Export Controls & Sanctions

• •Own and continuously improve SAP GTS capabilities supporting Export Control and Sanctions Compliance .
• •Manage and optimize processes for sanctioned-party screening, legal control checks, embargo controls, and related compliance requirements.
• •Ensure GTS solutions support changing global trade regulations and company compliance policies.
• •Work closely with Trade Compliance and Legal teams to translate regulatory requirements into effective system solutions.
• •Support implementation and maintenance of global trade compliance processes across countries and regions.

Trade & Customs

• •Manage SAP GTS functionality supporting trade and customs processes across the global organization.
• •Drive continuous improvement of customs declaration, customs communication, import/export, and related trade processes.
• •Support global and local customs requirements and ensure appropriate system configuration and integration.
• •Collaborate with customs and trade specialists to identify opportunities for process standardization, automation, and simplification.
• •Ensure alignment between SAP GTS and ERP processes across the global supply chain.

Integration & Architecture

• •Own the functional integration of SAP GTS with relevant enterprise applications, including SAP ERP/SAP S/4HANA and other business, logistics, compliance, and customs systems .
• •Ensure robust and reliable data flows between GTS and connected systems.
• •Analyze integration issues and coordinate resolution across application teams.
• •Contribute to integration architecture and design decisions for new solutions and enhancements.
• •Ensure interfaces and integrations are appropriately monitored, documented, and maintained.

Reporting & Analytics

• •Own and continuously improve SAP GTS reporting and analytics capabilities .
• •Ensure business stakeholders have access to accurate and relevant trade compliance, customs, and operational reporting.
• •Translate reporting requirements into scalable SAP GTS solutions.
• •Identify opportunities to improve data quality, transparency, automation, and management information.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

• •Act as the primary IT point of contact for global SAP GTS stakeholders.
• •Build strong relationships with Global Trade, Customs, Export Controls, Sanctions, Supply Chain, Finance, Logistics, IT Architecture, and other business functions .
• •Facilitate requirements gathering, solution design, prioritization, and decision-making.
• •Manage relationships with SAP and external implementation/application-support partners.
• •Challenge external providers on quality, delivery, cost, and adherence to agreed service levels.
• •Communicate application status, risks, issues, roadmap, and priorities to relevant stakeholders and management.

Projects & Continuous Improvement

• •Lead or contribute to global SAP GTS projects, implementations, rollouts, upgrades, migrations, and transformation initiatives.
• •Drive harmonization and standardization of GTS processes across regions and business units.
• •Identify opportunities for automation and process optimization.
• •Evaluate new SAP GTS capabilities and technologies and assess their potential business value.
• •Ensure solutions are scalable and aligned with the organization's global SAP and IT strategy.

Required Experience & Skills

• •Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Business, Supply Chain, International Trade, or a related discipline .
• •Significant experience with SAP Global Trade Services (GTS) in an application management, consulting, or solution ownership role.
• •Strong functional knowledge of:
• •SAP GTS Export Control
• •Sanctions / Legal Control
• •Trade & Customs
• •Customs declarations and related processes
• •SAP GTS reporting and analytics
• •Integration between GTS and SAP ERP/S/4HANA

• •Experience managing a global SAP application in a complex, multinational organization.
• •Strong understanding of international trade, customs, export controls, and sanctions processes.
• •Experience with SAP GTS implementations, enhancements, upgrades, or global rollouts.
• •Strong understanding of SAP integration concepts and interfaces.
• •Experience working with external SAP/application-support partners.
• •Strong incident, problem, change, and release management experience.
• •Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• •Ability to translate complex business and regulatory requirements into practical IT solutions.
• •Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• •Fluent English; additional languages are an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

• •Experience with SAP GTS Edition for SAP HANA / S/4HANA and/or SAP GTS 11.0.
• •Experience with global SAP S/4HANA transformation programs.
• •Knowledge of SAP integration technologies and APIs.
• •Experience with customs authorities and electronic customs communication.
• •Experience in a highly regulated or multinational environment.
• •Familiarity with ITIL-based application management processes.
• •Experience managing application roadmaps, budgets, vendors, and service providers.
