Lead Hardware Engineer

Your role

Capgemini Engineering are seeking to appoint a Hardware Systems engineer to work on safety critical, defence related projects. You will operate in a project environment working with our team to design an end-to-end hardware/software system.

In this role you will play a key role in:

• •Liaise closely with our clients to develop system requirements for safety related/critical, real-time, embedded systems.
• •Allocate functional and safety requirements between hardware and software.
• •Support project safety engineers in hardware hazard analyses and identify mitigations.
• •Develop system hardware architectures and system safety arguments.
• •Support activities surrounding EMC qualification and environmental certification.

Your profile

Essential

• •Degree qualified in a relevant subject and Chartered Engineer status.
• •10+ years’ experience in the full development lifecycle (requirements to manufacture) of hardware for safety critical, embedded software defence systems.
• •A current SC clearance or willingness to apply.
• •Experience in formal methods and/or rigorous design notations such as SCADE.
• •A good appreciation of safety engineering, reliability engineering and security considerations.
• •Strong customer facing and interpersonal skills

Desirable

• •Knowledge and/or appreciation of ADA and/or SPARK
• •Ability to lead small teams of up to 5 people.
