Lead Power Electronics Engineer

Dyson has an opportunity for power electronics engineers to join the highly successful Electrical Power Systems group.

The Electrical Power Systems group is a global and multidisciplinary team responsible for the development of Lithium-Ion battery management. Dyson battery management systems provide the high-power energy sources required to power the category leading cord free and robot products. As part of this group, we are looking to expand our Power Electronics capability in China.

• •Create and implement world leading designs to produce high-quality products.
• •Design of battery powered electronics to meet global product requirements.
• •Develop, test and document designs using best engineering practice.
• •Take an active approach in the generation of ideas.
• •Communicate with other teams to ensure effective project delivery.

• •Degree or equivalent experience in electronic engineering or comparable discipline.
• •Desirably more than 5 years working experience in electronic design industry or similar environment.
• •Experience in the design and development of SMPS, and power electronics products.
• •Experience in Battery Management System and Secondary Battery Technologies is a plus.
• •Experience in designing towards EMC/EMI compliance standards is a plus.
• •Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
• •Experience in people management or technical mentorship.
• •Able to lead and coach engineers in both technical and people management domains.
• •Able to provide technical direction and participate in cross-team technical reviews
• •Able to communicate complex ideas to a range of experts in different fields.

• •Solid understanding of basic principles of semiconductor devices such as MOSFET, BJT and diode.
• •Solid understanding in electronic thermal management.

• •Experience with circuit simulation and analysis.
• •Experience with PCB/schematic capture tools.
• •Solid understanding of Schematic diagrams and PCB layout.
• •Knowledge in cell qualification is a plus.
• •Knowledge in embedded software is a plus.
• •Demonstrate strong communication skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently or in a team.
• •Innovative problem solver willing to search for creativity.
• •Professional proficiency in spoken and written English.

• •Able to take up domestic travels on a frequent basis to meet our manufacturing partners.
• •Experience in setting up statement-of-work and collaborating with our manufacturing and joint-development partners.
