About the Position: This position is located in Landstuhl, Germany which is part of the Kaiserslautern/Ramstein complex. The city of Kaiserslautern is nestled in the small hills west of the Rhine River Valley, on the edge of the famous German Pfalz forest. The area does enjoy many pleasant days with reasonable temperatures. The winter is mild with some snowfall and the summers are generally warm and comfortable, with few hot days.

Duties

• •Serves as Lead Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist and subject matter expert for monitoring the performance of the operations and maintenance (OMEE) contractor at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (LRMC).
• •Evaluates and monitors contractor's performance of tasks related to unscheduled maintenance and repair, new work, and preventive maintenance of over 1,250,000 square feet of healthcare facilities.
• •Identifies deficiencies and initiates corrective actions for both the performance of physical maintenance tasks and data entry relative to the performance of maintenance.
• •Identifies, corrects, and resolves quality assurance issues with maintenance, renovation, and construction of healthcare facilities and support throughout LRMC.
• •Analyzes and evaluates proposed statements of work to assure that customer requirements are met, patient safety is not compromised, that infection control principles and policies are followed.
• •Leads numerous Quality Assurance Specialists responsible for monitoring contractor performance at LRMC.
• •Coaches the team in the selection and application of appropriate problem solving methods and techniques, provide advice on work methods, practices and procedures.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes implementing quality assurance testing plans and projects for medical facilities; inspecting construction and maintenance by contractors to evaluate if deliverables meet contract requirements; comparing delivered services to contractual and industry standards; and ensuring potential contract deficiencies are identified and reported for correction. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-11 or above. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.
