The Learning Experience Developer is responsible for developing engaging, high-quality learning solutions that support employee performance across the bank. This role develops blended learning solutions including, but not limited to, e-learning, video content, virtual instructor-led training, microlearning, in-person instructor-led training, online resource centers, and on-demand performance support as indicated by the performance need. The role may focus more on digital learning development or blended learning solutions depending upon team needs. This role blends excellent learning development skills to create interactive, learner-centered experiences aligned with business goals and regulatory requirements with essential instructional design experience. The position requires basic project and time management skills. The Learning Experience Developer works with the Instructional Designer and other Learning Experience Developers in developing learning solutions and keeping learning content current and aligned with policies and procedures. Works collaboratively on initiatives with the Learning & Development team that may go beyond the scope of learning development and involve virtual facilitation and assignment of learning via LMS (Workday Learning). Responsible for maintaining knowledge of instructional technologies by attending workshops, classes on training, reviewing training publications, and networking.

What you will do:

Learning Development & Design:

  • Develops interactive eLearning courses using adult learning principles and instructional design best practices. Incorporate multimedia elements as appropriate to enhance learner engagement.
  • Under administrative direction, designs learning solutions to support performance needs.
  • Develops learning materials including microlearnings, video demonstrations, reference tools, job aids, quick reference guides, electronic performance support (i.e. WalkMe), and level II-III evaluation instruments as indicated by the overall learning solution.
  • Develops instructor-led training content including facilitator guides, participant guides, training decks, and learning activities.
  • Collaborates with other Developers and Instructional Designers in creation of comprehensive curriculums including prerequisites, scaffolding of learning, multi-modal delivery, adaptive learning paths, and certificate logic.
  • Develops compliance eLearnings, meeting legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Develops required eLearnings regarding Human Resources policy administration and corporate decisions affecting bank culture and mission.
  • Facilitates pilot of instructor-led developed content, and/or trains-the-trainer to facilitate developed content.
  • Develops storyboards, scripts, and course prototypes.
  • Under administrative direction, constructs feedback instruments to evaluate training results and measure success.

Learning Deliverable Continuous Review & Improvement:

  • Regularly reviews and maintains training materials to keep them current.
  • Works with team in evaluating training effectiveness using learner feedback, assessments, and performance data.
  • Assists with reviewing vendor developed content with digital learning deliverables are outsourced.
  • Updates and improves learning deliverables based on formative and summative evaluations and other performance data.
  • Administrative & Cross-Functional Tasks
  • Upon request, runs completion and other necessary reports on learnings from Workday in response to Audit, Legal, or Business Line requests.
  • Works with L&D team in the creation and administration of learning campaigns for the assignment of bank wide annual mandatory training.
  • Supports delivery of employee onboarding virtual orientation classes.
  • Acts as one of the facilitators of VILT learning deliverables of developed learning solutions.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by direct supervisor or Head of Learning & Development.

Project Management & Collaboration:

  • Partners with subject matter experts from all business lines of the company (e.g. Retail, Lending, Operations, Information Security) to translate complex content into digestible learning experiences and ensure developed materials are applicable and relevant.
  • Works with Audit, Compliance, and Legal to ensure developed materials meet required compliance, regulatory, and legal standards.
  • May participate as a member of project teams and attend regular meetings to support new product introduction, process, and technology innovation to ensure training programs are developed and ongoing resources are in place for employees.

Learning Technology:

  • Implements and maintains learning content in LMS (Workday Learning).
  • Works with system administrator on implementation of new technology and integration with Workday Learning.
  • Travel Required 0-10 %.

Who you are:

  • 4 Year Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design or Technology, Education Technology, Curriculum and Instruction, Human Performance Technology/Improvement, or equivalent required.
  • 3 years minimum of Experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Instructional Design or Learning Technology specific certifications from ATD or equivalent beneficial but not required.
  • Certifications in Microsoft, Adobe, and/or Learning Content Development software beneficial but not required.

Learning Content Development:

  • Expertise in building engaging learning content across modalities, including digital, instructor-led, and other synchronous and asynchronous formats.
  • Skilled in using digital learning content creation tools such as Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, Vyond, and Articulate Storyline.
  • Expertise in developing learning deliverables aligned with performance objectives and business outcomes.
  • Applied knowledge in effectively using technology, including PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite, and Webex in the design of facilitated training deliverable.
  • Applied knowledge in effective creation of engaging and performance-based learning activities.
  • Skilled in creating facilitator guides, participant guides, and other necessary learning material for effective instructor-led learning deliverables.
  • Strong visual design and storytelling skills and proficiency in creating multimedia elements (video, graphics).
  • Experience in creating job aids, quick reference guides, and/or digital knowledge resources.
  • Skilled in creation of comprehensive curriculums that effectively leverage different modalities based on performance need.
  • Expertise in developing interactive learning experiences (learner journeys, branching, simulations, scenario-based learning, adaptive learning).
  • Applied knowledge of graphic design for learning (C.R.A.P., cognitive load, color theory, typography).
  • Practiced in the development and use of microlearning and modular content as part of learning solutions and curriculum design.
  • Experience in applying accessibility standards (WCAG).
  • Applied knowledge in gamification and game-based learning as applied in professional learning.
  • Working knowledge of applying “learning in the flow of work” and performance support tools such as WalkMe.
  • Working knowledge of AI in Learning (Copilot or similar).

Learning Science and Design Models:

  • Skilled in the application of adult learning theories (Andragogy, Constructivism, Cognitivism, Connectivism, Experiential Learning, Social Learning Theory, Transformative Learning).
  • Experience applying Instructional Design process models (ADDIE, SAM, Dick & Carey Instructional Systems, Rapid Prototype Development, Agile).
  • Experience using Instructional Design frameworks (Bloom’s Taxonomy, Gagne’s Nine Events of Instruction, Merrill’s First Principles of Instruction, ARCS Model,
