Lecturer in English (Screenwriting)

The Department of English and Creative Writing at Brandeis University seeks an instructor for the course Screenwriting Workshop: Variations on the Short Film, ENG 159A a four credit course in Spring 2027. This course is a workshop for undergraduates of mixed levels discussing short films and its many different styles. The class meets for three hours weekly.

Candidates with an MFA and film experience and at least two years of teaching experience will be given preference. Interested individuals should submit a cover letter, CV, and teaching statement and names and contact information for two references. The deadline for first consideration is Monday, September 28, 2026.

This appointment is to a position that is in a collective bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local 509.

The compensation for this course is $8764.20.
