Purpose of the Role

The Legal Entity Finance Analyst is responsible for supporting the financial stewardship, governance and oversight of Hiscox SA and its branches, as well as HASAS and any additional EU entities. The role acts as the key interface between the Finance External Partner, local business stakeholders, and legal entity governance, ensuring that financial information and controls are delivered accurately and on time.

The position provides challenge, review and oversight of outputs produced by the Finance External Provider and supports decision-making through financial analysis, insight and coordination across the organisation

Key Responsibilities

Legal Entity Stewardship

• •Support the financial oversight of of Hiscox SA and its branches, as well as HASAS and any additional EU entities
• •Coordinate inputs and deliverables for local Boards, Audit Committees and governance forums.
• •Ensure legal entity risks and issues are appropriately escalated.

Financial Oversight and Control

· Review and challenge financial reporting, balance sheet positions and key control outputs produced by Finance External Provider.

· Monitor the effectiveness of the financial control environment.

· Support the identification and remediation of control deficiencies.

· Assist with the maintenance and documentation of entity-level controls.

· Support interactions with regulators, internal auditors and external auditors.

· Ensure local reporting requirements are understood and communicated to relevant stakeholders (for Portugal)

· Facilitate communication between local stakeholders and central Finance teams.

Governance and Risk Management

• •Support legal entity governance activities and action tracking.
• •Assist with risk assessments and regulatory change initiatives.
• •Ensure compliance with Group policies and local regulatory requirements.

Continuous Improvement

• •Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and improve finance processes.
• •Support Finance transformation initiatives and implementation of operating model changes.

Skills and Experience

Technical Skills

• •Understanding of financial accounting and reporting principles.
• •Knowledge of financial controls and governance frameworks.
• •Experience supporting statutory audit or regulatory reporting processes.
• •Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• •Advanced Excel and financial analysis capabilities.

Qualifications

• •Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• •Professional accounting qualification
• •Experience within insurance or financial services preferred.
