Role Summary
We're looking for a Legal Intern to join Photoroom's legal team, working directly alongside our Head of Legal. You'll get hands-on exposure to how legal operates inside a fast-growing tech company, supporting our sales, growth, tech, and people teams as they navigate the laws and regulations that shape their work.
This is a 6-month full-time internship (stage), starting from September.
You'll need a school internship agreement (convention de stage) to join us. Please note that this is not an apprenticeship (alternance), so we're not able to consider candidates seeking a work-study contract.
Location: Paris-based, 3 days/week in the office.
About the Role
You will play a key role in supporting the operational teams by addressing their legal needs. Your responsibilities will include:
Commercial/Business Affairs:
Support commercial contracting day-to-day. Help review, draft, and negotiate sales, marketing, and IT agreements, and assist with the steady flow of contract requests from business teams.
Raise awareness among and support operational teams (Sales, Customer Success, etc.) on legal and contractual matters: sharing best practices, answering common questions, and upskilling business teams on contractual processes.
Regulatory/Compliance:
Support the legal team on GDPR compliance: update our ROPA, review DPAs…
Monitor and track compliance with applicable regulations: the AI Act, Data Act…
Help translate these regulations into internal processes and contractual clauses.
Legal Ops:
Keep the contract library up to date, reflecting legal developments and the company's practices.
Optimize legal workflows with AI to enhance the team's efficiency.
About You
You're currently enrolled in a Master's degree in law, ideally with a specialization in data protection/privacy, IT law, or business law, and your school can provide a convention de stage for the full internship.
You have a first successful experience in a law firm or in the legal commercial department of a company, for example, through a previous internship.
You're comfortable supporting a steady volume of commercial contract work and eager to learn to review, draft, and negotiate independently.
You're fluent in French and English, written and spoken.
You think like a business partner in training. You're curious about the commercial context behind legal questions, and you're comfortable proposing practical options rather than purely theoretical ones.
You're comfortable with how we work. We're async, remote-friendly, and fast-moving. You can manage several tasks independently and keep stakeholders informed without being chased.
Ideally, you have an interest in AI technologies and their legal implications, including the EU AI Act. We care more about your ability to learn fast than what you already know.
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging
We're committed to enabling everyone to feel included and valued at work. We believe our company and culture are strongest when composed of diverse experiences and backgrounds.
That's also why we have flexible working hours, trust people to work remotely, and extended parental leave.
All qualified applicants receive consideration for employment without regard to age, color, family, gender identity, marital status, national origin, physical or mental disability, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected by applicable laws.
