Lessons Learned Analyst (Journeyman)

Overview

Prevailance is seeking a Lessons Learned Analyst (Journeyman) to support the National Guard Bureau ( NGB ) Joint Lessons Learned Analysis Services ( JLLAS ) contract at Arlington Hall Station, Virginia. This position supports the National Guard Joint Lessons Learned Program ( JLLP ) through collection planning, qualitative data collection, analysis, and development of lessons learned products. The position is expected to work on-site and may require approximately 25% travel.

The Lessons Learned Analyst conducts structured interviews and questionnaires, analyzes operational documentation and collected observations, and develops reports supporting the identification and application of lessons from National Guard domestic operations, homeland defense activities, and joint activities. This position also supports Requests for Information ( RFIs ) and cross-trains to provide continuity of Team Lead functions when required.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

• •Draft and refine Quick Look Reports ( QLRs ), After Action Reports ( AARs ), Collection Plans, and Before Action Reviews ( BARs ) supporting the NG JLLP
• •Conduct structured interviews and questionnaires with National Guard commanders, staff, and subordinate personnel in accordance with approved Collection Plans
• •Attend meetings, conferences, workshops, symposiums, and other external events to gather lessons learned perspectives and produce meeting summaries within required timelines
• •Review and analyze collected materials, including interview transcripts, questionnaire responses, standing operating procedures, briefs, information papers, and previous AARs, to support root-cause and trend analysis
• •Support collection and integration of joint lessons learned observations from National Guard domestic operations, homeland defense activities, and joint activities
• •Cross-train to perform Senior Lessons Learned Analyst/Team Lead duties in their absence to maintain continuity of contract support
• •Respond to RFIs using previously analyzed lessons learned to support planning and execution of future operations, exercises, and training
• •Ensure written products comply with NGB style and formatting standards
• •Perform additional duties as directed by the Team Lead and Program Manager

Requirements

Qualifications

• •Minimum 8 years of military staff, training, or analytical writing experience within the last 10 years
• •Demonstrated experience conducting structured interviews, questionnaires, or similar qualitative data collection activities
• •Strong written communication and analytical skills
• •Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and standard collaborative software
• •U.S. Citizenship required

Education

• •Bachelor's degree preferred
• •An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Security Clearance

Must possess and maintain a SECRET clearance

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated experience with the Joint Lessons Learned Information System (JLLIS)
