Linux Engineer and AWS Infra Admin

We are looking for a senior Linux engineer with solid AWS infrastructure administration experience to design, build and operate secure, scalable and resilient cloud platforms based on Amazon Linux and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

Responsibilities

- Design, provision and maintain infrastructure on Amazon Linux and Red Hat Enterprise Linux

- Administer and optimize AWS infrastructure components and services

- Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve complex Linux system issues

- Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform

- Participate in an on-call rota and lead technical response during major incidents

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive infrastructure improvements and automation initiatives

Linux Administration

- Extensive hands-on experience administering Linux across multiple distributions

- Deep experience with Amazon Linux, including advanced troubleshooting

- Strong experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux in enterprise environments

- Proven ability to analyze, diagnose and resolve system-level issues

AWS Infrastructure

Significant experience designing and operating workloads on AWS, including:

- Amazon Machine Images (AMIs)

- Storage services (EBS, S3, EFS)

- Networking (VPC, security groups, subnets)

- Lambda and serverless solutions

- Image build pipelines and optimization

- EC2 lifecycle management and performance optimization

- Practical experience building and provisioning cloud infrastructure at scale

Additional responsibilities

Communication & Leadership

- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Willingness and ability to participate in an on-call rota

- Experience leading technical incident response and driving resolution

- Ability to work effectively with distributed, cross-functional teams

Desirable Skills

- Experience using Ansible for configuration management

- Strong Bash scripting skills

- Experience designing or contributing to automation frameworks

- Exposure to container platforms and orchestration (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)

- Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines

Certifications (optional)

- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)

- AWS Associate-level certification (Solutions Architect, Developer or SysOps Administrator)

Qualifications

- Minimum 7+ years of professional Linux system administration experience

- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on AWS infrastructure experience

- Proven experience working in fast-paced, incident-driven production environments

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Background

- Experience in financial services, SaaS or large-scale enterprise environments

- Demonstrated track record of infrastructure optimization and cost efficiency

- Experience mentoring colleagues and promoting knowledge sharing

- Strong interest in automation, reliability engineering and continuous improvement of infrastructure platforms
