Job Overview

Pulse is currently seeking an experienced Band 8a Oncology Pharmacist to join the pharmacy team in Guildford. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled pharmacist with extensive hospital and oncology experience to provide specialist clinical pharmacy services to oncology and haematology patients within a leading healthcare setting.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the safe and effective delivery of systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT), working closely with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes and maintain the highest standards of care.

Key Responsibilities

Provide specialist clinical pharmacy services for oncology and haematology patients.

Undertake clinical screening and verification of systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT) prescriptions.

Support the safe and effective use of cancer medicines in line with local and national guidelines.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise treatment pathways and patient outcomes.

Contribute to clinical governance, service development, and medicines optimisation initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).

Extensive hospital pharmacy experience, including oncology and haematology services.

Competent in the clinical screening and verification of SACT prescriptions.

Strong knowledge of cancer treatments, chemotherapy protocols, and supportive care medicines.

BOPA Passport desirable.

Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
