Summary

About the Position: This position is located within the Department of Logistics, Office Of The Chief at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

  • Review and assess logistics operational shortfalls and identify opportunities for improvement in the logistics process.
  • Plan, program and prioritize subordinate work requirements.
  • Ensure all required equipment and supplies are on hand and designated personnel are selected, properly trained, and fully qualified to perform assigned duties.
  • Conduct internal audits to validate that Logistics personnel are complying with procedural instructions and other published guidance.
  • Develop requirements, maintain electronic records, and coordinate the physical disposition of all contingency stocks, including medical Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Responsible for creating, reviewing, standard operating procedures (SOP), and updating logistics instructions.
  • Develop and implement work performance standards and evaluates work performance of subordinates.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes navigating automated logistics systems; resolving logistical support issues; and compiling data to generate reports and/or briefings. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
