CommBank’s Group Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) team is looking for a manager to contribute to our Group M&A department sitting within Group Strategy.

Our team is responsible for the evaluation and execution of all mergers, acquisitions and divestments considered by the CBA Group.

• Your Role.
• As a Manager in M&A, you will be involved in the end-to-end execution of mergers, acquisitions and divestments, from opportunity assessment through to completion. You will conduct due diligence and assess the commercial, financial and operational risks and benefits associated with both buy and sell side transactions.

Working on some of the most significant acquisitions, divestments and investments across one of Australia's largest organisations, you'll help evaluate opportunities that shape the future direction of the Group.

You'll partner with senior stakeholders across the bank, providing advice, analysis and recommendations throughout the transaction lifecycle to support informed decision-making and successful deal execution.

On any given day you may:

• •Undertake detailed financial analysis and valuation work, including developing financial models
• •Draft presentations and papers for senior stakeholders, committees and Boards within the CBA Group
• •Understand the strategies of the individual Business Units and consider whether opportunities fit within that strategy
• •Independently manage specific workstreams within M&A transactions
• •Liaise with Business Unit and support function partners
• •Assist in leveraging external resources e.g. investment banking advisors

We’re interested in hearing from people who have;

Experience in M&A, investment banking, corporate development, transaction services or broader corporate finance environments. You'll bring financial modelling and valuation capability, experience supporting and executing complex transactions and the confidence to work with senior stakeholders across a large and dynamic organisation.

You will also have:

• •Depth of experience managing deals and activities from conception until execution
• •Well-developed ability to assess and manage competing priorities, often in time sensitive environments
• •The ability to independently drive workstreams and influence senior stakeholders
• •Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
