At Audible, we believe stories have the power to transform lives. It’s why we work with some of the world’s leading creators to produce and share audio storytelling with our millions of global listeners. We are dreamers and inventors who come from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences to empower and inspire each other. Imagine your future with us.
- ABOUT THIS ROLE
- We are seeking a results-oriented Manager, JP Membership Growth Marketing. This is a strategic, hands-on role responsible for growing the Audible member base across core acquisition channels including Amazon, Performance Marketing, and Business Development, leading cross-functional implementation with both Amazon JP and Audible global teams. This role will own the end-to-end acquisition strategy for Japan — from opportunity identification and channel planning through execution, optimization, and performance reporting. The primary KPIs are revenue, members, and cancels. This role will report directly into the Japan Country Manager, Audible.
- As the Manager, JP Membership Growth Marketing, you will...
- - Focus on membership growth roadmap for JP, setting priorities based on data-driven analysis of market potential and resource allocation
- - Identify and articulate membership growth opportunities across untapped Amazon business categories (e.g., Softline, Consumables, Digital, Prime), and translate them into clearly scoped projects with defined goals, timelines, and success metrics
- - Develop and drive acquisition campaign strategy from opportunity identification through concept development, stakeholder alignment, execution, QA and performance measurement
- - Coordinate the planning, execution, and optimization of paid media campaigns across digital channels (search, social, display, programmatic) for Japan to achieve acquisition and efficiency goals, with the Paid Media team and Paid Media agency
- - Identify, negotiate, and manage strategic business development partnerships to drive incremental membership growth; develop and scale new partnership models that expand Audible's reach beyond owned channels
- - Build and manage collaborative relationships with Audible global marketing, Product, and Tech organizations., as well as with other Amazon business category stakeholders, external partners, and media partners to unlock new growth levers
- - Deliver regular performance reporting with actionable insights, clearly communicating progress, learnings, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership
- - Execute tasks and monitor compliance relating to regulatory requirements for the Japan business.
- - Partner with Business Intelligence and analytics teams to develop customer segmentation, targeting frameworks, and measurement methodologies that inform campaign strategy
- - Manage multiple concurrent cross-functional projects with clear milestones, dependencies, and stakeholder communication cadences
- ABOUT AUDIBLE

We spark listeners’ imaginations, offering immersive, cinematic experiences full of inspiration and insight to enrich our customers daily lives. Basic qualifications
- - 7+ years of experience in digital growth marketing, membership/subscription marketing, or strategic marketing roles
- - Experience identifying market opportunities, articulating them clearly to senior stakeholders, and translating them into structured project plans with measurable outcomes
- - Project management skills with experience driving complex, cross-functional initiatives from concept to delivery across multiple teams and organizations
- - Experience developing and executing marketing strategies that directly impact membership or subscription growth metrics (acquisition, retention, penetration)
- - Analytical and quantitative skills, a passion for metrics and quantitative skills, with experience in synthesizing complex datasets into clear business narratives and actionable recommendations
- - Experience working with international teams across different time zones and cultures, with the ability to align diverse stakeholders toward shared objectives
- - Written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write compelling, data-driven narratives that influence senior leadership decisions
- - Experience building productive cross-functional partnerships and driving alignment across organizations with competing priorities
Preferred qualifications
- - Experience in subscription-based or membership-based businesses, ideally in digital media or e-commerce
- - Experience in performance marketing (i.e., SEO, Paid Search, Paid Social) preferred
- - Proven ability to operate as a strategy driver — comfortable defining the "what" and "why" before mobilizing teams on the "how"
- - Track record of launching new programs/initiatives where no established playbook exists
- - Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to create structure and clarity in fast-paced, evolving environments
- - Experience working within matrixed organizations where influence without direct authority is essential
- - Bilingual proficiency (Japanese and English) strongly preferred, with demonstrated ability to communicate complex business concepts in both languages
