Manager, Knowledge Management

About the role

At Dyson, delivering increasingly sophisticated products at pace requires effective organisational learning, trusted knowledge assets and easy access to information that supports Product Development teams across the product lifecycle. As Dyson products become more complex, software-enabled and subject to increasing regulatory requirements, the ability to capture, organise, maintain and reuse knowledge becomes increasingly important to delivery effectiveness, governance quality and organisational capability.

The Manager, Knowledge Management is responsible for establishing and operating Dyson’s Product Development knowledge management capability. The role owns knowledge governance, knowledge platforms, information architecture, organisational learning processes and knowledge asset management, ensuring knowledge remains accessible, trusted and effectively integrated into Product Development ways of working.

Working closely with Engineering, DDIO, Business Units, Quality, Manufacturing and Product Leadership teams, the role enables organisational learning, process integration, capability development and knowledge reuse, ensuring Dyson can continuously improve Product Development performance while reducing duplication and repeated effort.

Accountabilities

Knowledge Management Operations

Establish and operate Dyson’s Product Development knowledge management capability.

Manage knowledge repositories, knowledge services and supporting operating processes.

Coordinate knowledge asset ownership, review cycles and content governance activities.

Ensure knowledge remains current, accessible, trusted and governed.

Support continuous improvement of the knowledge management operating model.

Knowledge Platforms & Information Architecture

Own implementation, administration and continuous improvement of Product Development knowledge platforms.

Define and maintain information architecture, taxonomy, metadata standards and knowledge structures.

Improve knowledge discoverability, accessibility and user experience.

Develop governance controls for creation, maintenance, approval and retirement of knowledge assets.

Support adoption of digital and AI-enabled knowledge discovery capabilities.

Organisational Learning & Knowledge Reuse

Establish mechanisms for capturing lessons learned, best practices and delivery insights.

Convert organisational knowledge into reusable assets, guidance, standards and supporting materials.

Develop communities of practice, contributor networks and subject matter expert engagement models.

Promote knowledge reuse and organisational learning across Product Development.

Support capability maturity through structured learning and knowledge-sharing activities.

Process Integrations & Knowledge Governance

Integrate knowledge management into Product Development governance and operational processes.

Ensure product development processes, guidance materials, standards and policy content are appropriately governed and maintained.

Support alignment between Product Frameworks, Product Governance, Portfolio Operations and knowledge assets.

Establish content lifecycle controls and ownership responsibilities.

Improve traceability between frameworks, processes, standards and supporting knowledge.

Knowledge Adoption & Capability Development

Develop knowledge communications, guidance, training materials and supporting content.

Improve stakeholder understanding and adoption of knowledge management practices and tools.

Build organisational learning and knowledge-sharing capability across Product Development.

Support adoption of knowledge platforms, standards and ways of working.

Promote knowledge contribution, reuse and continuous learning across Dyson.

Stakeholder Management & Collaboration

Build strong relationships across Engineering, DDIO, Business Units, Quality, Manufacturing and Product Leadership teams.

Partner with Product Frameworks, Product Governance, Portfolio Operations and Product Development Data, Systems & Insight teams.

Facilitate alignment between content owners, subject matter experts, process owners and governance stakeholders.

Lead workshops, working groups and knowledge-sharing activities.

Act as a trusted advisor on organisational learning, knowledge governance and knowledge management practices.

About you

Professional experience

Experience in Knowledge Management, Organisational Learning, Information Management, Content Governance or related disciplines.

Experience implementing knowledge management strategies, operating models, governance frameworks and information architectures.

Experience administering and improving enterprise knowledge, collaboration or process-management platforms.

Experience developing taxonomies, metadata structures, content governance models or knowledge repositories.

Experience supporting organisational learning, lessons learned or continuous improvement initiatives.

Strong stakeholder management, facilitation and communication capability.

Experience with SharePoint, SAP Signavio, knowledge platforms or similar enterprise content-management technologies is desirable.
