Conga is hiring a Manager, Software Engineering to join our exceptionally talented AI Engineering team. In this role, you’ll lead a team of software engineers building the AI/ML foundations that power product features across the company - from personalization and forecasting to NLP, recommendations, and generative AI.

You’ll collaborate closely with Engineering Managers, Architects, Data Scientists, Product Managers, and Directors across the AI Pillar. This is a highly cross ‑ functional, collaborative environment where you’ll grow as a leader, mentor others, and help shape Conga’s next generation of AI solutions.

This role requires strong engineering leadership, hands ‑ on experience with AI/ML systems, and excellent people and time ‑ management skills. You’ll guide your team to deliver high ‑ quality software solutions, influence technical strategy, and help drive Conga’s AI roadmap forward.

As a Manager, Software Engineering in the AI Platform, you’ll be responsible for building the core AI/ML foundations that power Conga’s products. Your leadership directly impacts how quickly and reliably we deliver intelligent features to customers.

You’ll drive strategy and execution for critical AI/ML platform components, including:

Feature stores

Distributed model training

Model versioning and evaluation

Monitoring, drift detection, and automated retraining

Responsible AI, explainability, and fairness frameworks

You’ll also partner closely with Data Science and domain engineering teams to understand use cases and build scalable foundations for real ‑ time and batch applications.

Your work will shape how Conga builds, deploys, and governs AI at scale - making this role central to our long ‑ term innovation strategy.

Are you the person we're looking for?

You’re an experienced engineering leader.

You bring 8+ years of software engineering experience and at least 3 years managing teams. You’ve led software development initiatives, coached engineers, and built high ‑ performing, collaborative teams.

You understand both SDLC and MLL.

You have a deep understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle and Machine Learning Lifecycle - from experimentation and model training to deployment, monitoring, and governance.

You build scalable AI/ML foundations.

You’ve implemented AI/ML solutions in production environments and understand how to integrate models into real ‑ time and batch applications. You’re familiar with ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, MLflow, scikit ‑ learn, or HuggingFace.

You’re highly technical and hands ‑ on.

You’re comfortable with Python (preferred), Java, C#, or Scala. You understand modern engineering practices: object ‑ oriented programming, concurrency, microservices, REST APIs, and test ‑ driven development.

You champion engineering excellence.

You drive robust design, peer reviews, and efficient CI/CD practices. You understand testing concepts (white/black box, coverage, mocking) and tools like PyTest, xUnit, or Selenium.

You’re cloud ‑ native and infrastructure ‑ savvy.

You have hands ‑ on experience with GCP (BigQuery, GKE, GCS, DataFlow, Kubeflow, Vertex AI) or equivalent AWS/Azure services. You’re familiar with IaC and CI/CD tools like Terraform, GitHub Actions, Concourse, or Ansible.

You lead with clarity, empathy, and accountability.

You mentor engineers, foster teamwork, and encourage continuous improvement. You communicate clearly, break down complex tasks, and help teams deliver high ‑ quality outcomes on time.

You influence across teams and levels.

You collaborate with Product, Data Science, ML ‑ Ops, and DevOps partners. You translate business needs into engineering outcomes and guide architectural decisions for scalable, secure AI/ML systems.

What will give you an edge

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computational Linguistics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field

Experience with AI product lifecycle management, model governance, and release management

Strong architectural instincts and experience providing technical oversight for AI/ML systems

A track record of hiring, coaching, and developing engineering talent

Experience working in agile, cross ‑ functional environments
