A Day in the Life

Medtronic is a medical technology and manufacturing organization focused on producing high-quality products in a controlled production environment. The Production Team Lead supports daily manufacturing operations by coordinating production activities, maintaining compliance with quality requirements, and promoting a safe and efficient workplace.

This position is based onsite at 3487 West 2100 South, Suite 100, West Valley City, Utah 84119. The scheduled shift is Monday through Thursday, 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Travel is not expected for this role.

The Production Team Lead provides day-to-day leadership and support for a manufacturing team, ensuring production goals, quality standards, and safety requirements are achieved. This role serves as a technical resource within the assigned production area, supports employee training and development, and helps drive operational efficiency through effective coordination and problem resolution.

Primary Responsibilities

• •Lead daily production activities by assigning work, monitoring progress, and addressing barriers to achieving production targets.
• •Promote a positive team environment through coaching, mentorship, recognition, and real-time performance feedback.
• •Enforce compliance with safety requirements and escalate safety concerns to appropriate departments and leadership.
• •Perform and audit manufacturing operations to ensure adherence to quality system requirements and documented work instructions.
• •Train and support team members to maintain qualification, proficiency, and cross-functional coverage within the assigned production area.
• •Monitor production controls, including Kanban levels, material availability, and scrap response activities, to support uninterrupted operations.
• •Review production records and documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established procedures.
• •Maintain organization, cleanliness, and material control within the assigned manufacturing area.

Required Qualifications

• •Requires 5+ years of related experience, which may include a combination of practical experience and applicable training, education, or certification.
• No minimum education requirement.
• •Ability to read, write, communicate, and comprehend in English.
• •Experience following detailed work instructions and quality system requirements in a manufacturing environment.
• •Basic math proficiency, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• •Ability to perform manufacturing activities requiring sitting, standing, stair use, manual dexterity, microscope work, hand-eye coordination, and light lifting.

Preferred Qualifications

• •Experience leading, coaching, or training production team members in a manufacturing environment.
• •Cross-functional proficiency across multiple production operations or manufacturing processes.
• •Experience auditing production activities and providing process adherence feedback.
• •Experience using Kanban, inventory control, or other production management systems.
• •Medical device manufacturing experience in a regulated environment.

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$53,600.00 - $80,400.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
