Mason Supervisor (Seasonal)

Summary

You will serve as a Mason Supervisor (Seasonal). at San Juan National Historic Site. The incumbent serves as a Mason Supervisor and is responsible for supervisory control and skilled work in a variety of trades relating to historic preservation and maintenance. The typical seasonal entry-on-duty period is October-November 2026, but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding.

Duties

Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Supervises and directs employees by assigning work, establishing priorities, providing instructions and guidance, monitoring performance, and ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with established requirements. Plans, coordinates, and oversees technical and operational work by interpreting instructions, specifications, drawings, procedures, and standards; determining appropriate work methods; and coordinating resources, materials, tools, equipment, and personnel to accomplish assigned. Ensures quality, safety, and technical compliance by inspecting work, monitoring employee practices, identifying deficiencies or hazards, directing corrective action, and ensuring established technical, safety, and quality standards are consistently followed. Manages employee development and performance by providing training, coaching, mentoring, feedback, and performance evaluations; identifying skill or training needs; recognizing effective performance; and addressing deficiencies in accordance with applicable policies and procedures. Resolves operational and technical problems and maintains accountability for the work unit by evaluating issues, making sound supervisory decisions, communicating with management and employees, monitoring productivity and resource use, and ensuring work is completed accurately.
