1. Job Purpose

Responsible for managing purchasing activities to ensure the timely availability of materials, components, and services required for production and business operations. The Buyer will work closely with suppliers, Production, Planning, Engineering, Quality, Warehouse, and other relevant departments to ensure materials are purchased at the right quality, quantity, cost, and delivery schedule.

2. Key Responsibilities

• •Execute purchasing activities based on approved purchase requisitions, material requirements, and production schedules.
• •Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing, quality, payment terms, and delivery conditions.
• •Issue and manage Purchase Orders (POs) in accordance with company purchasing procedures and approval requirements.
• •Follow up closely with suppliers on order confirmation, delivery schedules, shortages, delays, and outstanding purchase orders.
• •Monitor supplier performance in terms of quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness .
• •Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier information, pricing, and purchase order status in the relevant ERP system.
• •Coordinate with Planning and Production teams to ensure materials are available according to the required production schedule.
• •Work with Quality and Engineering teams to resolve supplier-related quality issues, material discrepancies, and technical concerns.
• •Identify and communicate potential material shortages or delivery risks to the relevant stakeholders.
• •Support supplier sourcing and qualification activities for new materials, components, and suppliers.
• •Conduct price comparison and cost analysis to support purchasing decisions and cost reduction initiatives.
• •Participate in supplier negotiations and cost improvement activities.
• •Review and monitor supplier quotations, lead times, minimum order quantities, and other commercial terms.
• •Assist in developing and maintaining an effective supplier base to ensure continuity of supply.
• •Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies, procedures, and applicable requirements.
• •Maintain proper documentation for purchasing transactions and supplier communications.
• •Support periodic supplier performance reviews and improvement activities.
• •Prepare purchasing-related reports, analysis, and updates for management when required.
• •Perform other purchasing-related duties and ad-hoc assignments as assigned by the superior.

3. Job Requirements

Education

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

• •Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in purchasing, procurement, sourcing, or supply chain, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• •Experience in purchasing mechanical, electrical, electronic, semiconductor, or engineering-related components will be an advantage.
• •Fresh graduates with relevant internship experience may also be considered for junior-level positions.
